Area Manager – Childcare Services

Little Scholars Montessori & Childcare

About Us

Little Scholars Montessori & Childcare is an established and growing childcare provider with over 15 years of experience delivering high-quality early years education and school-age childcare across North County Dublin.

As we continue to expand, we are seeking an experienced and motivated Area Manager to join our senior leadership team. This newly created role has been designed to provide operational leadership across our services while supporting our Managing Director to focus on strategic growth and development.

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced professional with strong leadership and people management skills who enjoys developing teams, driving operational excellence and making a meaningful impact across multiple services.

About the Role
Reporting directly to the Managing Director, the Area Manager will lead the day-to-day operational management of three childcare services, with the opportunity to support the organisation's continued growth and expansion as additional services are developed. A key aspect of the role is leading operational HR across the organisation, working closely with each Person in Charge, the external HR provider, the Business Administrator and the finance function to ensure consistent, high-quality people and operational practices across all services.

Key Responsibilities:

People Management & HR:

· Lead recruitment, onboarding, probation reviews, performance appraisals and staff development.

· Provide leadership, coaching and support to each Person in Charge.

· Lead disciplinary, grievance, absence, capability and performance management.

· Work closely with the external HR provider on employee relations.

· Support workforce planning, succession planning and employee wellbeing.

· Foster a positive, high-performing culture.

Operational Leadership:

· Lead day-to-day operations across multiple services.

· Prepare and oversee staffing rotas and daily staffing requirements.

· Conduct quality assurance and compliance visits.

· Coordinate operational purchasing and supplier management

· Support service improvements and new service openings.

Compliance & Quality:

· Ensure services remain inspection ready.

· Lead compliance reviews.

· Support policy and procedure development.

· Promote continuous improvement.

Business Support:

· Work with the Business Administrator and finance function.

· Monitor operational performance and expenditure.

· Build relationships with parents, regulators, suppliers and stakeholders.

About You

· Previous service management or senior management experience within the childcare sector

· A recognised qualification in Early Childhood Care and Education is desirable

· Strong knowledge of regulations and quality standards.

· Experience leading teams and managing HR.

· Excellent communication, leadership and organisational skills.

· Full clean driving licence and access to transport.
