Full job description

Experienced Bookkeeper

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Bookkeeper to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the day-to-day financial records and ensuring the company's books are accurately maintained through to trial balance.

Key Responsibilities

Maintain accurate financial records and bookkeeping.
Process accounts payable and accounts receivable, managing cashflow
Perform bank, supplier, and customer reconciliations.
Prepare and post journals.
Process VAT returns and statutory filings.
Maintain the general ledger.
Prepare monthly accounts to trial balance.
Assist with month-end and year-end procedures.
Liaise with external accountants and auditors as required.
Ensure all financial records are accurate, complete, and up to date.

Requirements

Minimum of 3 years' bookkeeping experience.
Proven ability to prepare accounts to trial balance.
Strong understanding of double-entry bookkeeping principles.
Experience with accounting software (e.g. Sage, GDS, or similar).
Excellent Microsoft Excel skills.
High level of accuracy, attention to detail, and organisational skills.
Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.

Desirable

Accounting Technician qualification or equivalent.
Experience with payroll processing.
Knowledge of VAT and Revenue compliance.
Knowledge of VRT and Vehicle Categorisation
