3A Composites Industry Europe is an international division of the 3A Composites Group and part of Schweiter Technologies AG. We are the leading manufacturer, along with Athlone Extrusions Ltd., the Polycasa Group and Perspex International Ltd., for extruded plastic sheets, aluminium composite materials and lightweight foamboards for the fields of agricultural and commercial vehicles, caravans, sanitary ware, furniture construction, shipbuilding and the rail vehicle construction industry.

We have a fantastic opportunity for a FINANCIAL CONTROLLER POSITION in Athlone, Ireland.

This dual FINANCIAL CONTROLLER role leads the end-to-end finance agenda for Athlone Extrusions (~160 FTE) and serves as Business Area Controller for 3A Composites Industry, covering Pribram and related sites/sales flows supplied for our customers. It combines two mandates: full site finance ownership in Athlone and functional controlling leadership across the Business Area. The role ensures accurate and timely reporting, strong controls, reliable costing, working capital discipline, and tax/regulatory compliance in Ireland, while building standardized controlling, profitability transparency, and performance management across the Business Area.

What we require:

Site Finance Ownership – Athlone (flex portion of time, end-to-end)

Close & Reporting
Own month/quarter/year-end close; plan vs. actual, variance analysis, early warnings.
Maintain a clean control environment; coordinate external audits and resolve findings.
Compliance & Tax (Ireland)
Ensure adherence to Group Accounting Manual and Irish statutory requirements; manage corporate tax, VAT and payroll taxes.
Costing & Profitability
Own standard costing and master data integrity (BOMs, routings, overhead rates, labor/overhead absorption).
Improve costing reliability; analyze PPV, usage, scrap, labor efficiency, downtime; drive corrective actions with Operations/Engineering/Supply Chain.
Establish post-calculation profitability and cost-to-serve by product/customer; support pricing and contracts.
Working Capital & Cash
Drive AR/AP/inventory optimization; own cash forecasting and banking relationships.
Business Partnering
Sparring partner to Plant Manager; active role in S&OP, capacity planning, and shopfloor performance management.
Team, Systems & Digital
Lead and develop the local finance team (currently 3 FTE + 1 temp); raise controlling capability.
Ensure LN Infor and finance processes run correctly and on time; identify and implement digitalization/automation options.

Business Area Controlling – Industry (incl. Pribram and related sites)

Performance Management & Governance
Run a structured risks & opportunities process; support make-or-buy and inter-site supply decisions (e.g., Příbram supplies for Athlone customers).
Coordinate with local finance/controllers; standardize policies, calendars and controls; support external audits per country.
KPI Standards & Reporting
Define a standard KPI set and dashboard across sites (sales, mix, margin bridge, productivity, OEE/scrap where available, NWC, capex, cash); ensure a single source of truth across GL, sub-ledgers, LN Infor and SAP/BI.
Planning & Forecasting
Lead budget, rolling forecast and multi-year plans for the Business Area; calendar, templates, consolidation, challenge; gap-to-budget/action tracking.
Profitability & Pricing Support
Implement pre- and post-calculation frameworks across sites; product/customer profitability transparency.
Align transfer pricing and cost allocations with Group CFO; ensure documentation.
Systems & Integration
Bridge LN Infor (Athlone/Polycasa) and SAP sites; harmonize reporting logic; lead LN phase-2 enhancements for costing, MRP parameters, inventory accuracy and pricing/discount logic.
