Full job description

Run our front desk like it's yours. The Lakeside Manor is a family-run lakeside hotel in Virginia, Co. Cavan - 31 bedrooms, bar, restaurant, terrace and a full diary of weddings and events - and we're hiring an experienced front office professional to be the senior presence on our desk. You'll often be the one in charge of the guest experience on your shift: trusted to fix things on the spot, to show wedding and event enquirers around, and to make the arrival and the goodbye the best part of someone's day.

What you'll own

The guest journey at the desk - arrivals, departures and everything between, run to a standard you set
Enquiries and complaints, resolved end-to-end - with real authority to make small goodwill gestures on your own call
Wedding, event and group enquiries: responding promptly, showing the space, holding dates and preparing provisional bookings for sign-off
Front-of-house hosting - greeting, seating, keeping the welcome warm
Daily reconciliation, reports and PMS housekeeping (we use Mews - we'll train you on it if you know Opera, Hotsoft or similar)
Coaching reception colleagues as the team grows

What we're looking for

2+ years in hotel reception / front office (essential)
A calm, warm complaint-handler who protects both the guest and the business
An eye for the sale - the event enquiry, the upgrade, the return booking
Organised and accurate with billing, reports and handovers
Fluent English and the right to work in Ireland

What you'll get

€16.50–€18.00 per hour, placed on experience and reviewed after probation, plus a share of tips
