About the Role
As a Social Care Manager 1 and the Person in Charge (PIC) for a Designated Centre which currently include three locations in Kildare; currently Maynooth, Kilcock and Kilshanroe, you will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and standards, and maintaining high-quality care. You will coordinate with the Regional Manager to ensure that all staff are trained and supported to deliver the best possible service. The Social Care Manager will support high quality service delivery through day-to-day management, leadership and coaching.
In this role, you will mentor and lead staff teams, working in partnership with individuals to help them develop purposeful and meaningful visions for their lives. This role requires a Social Care Manager who will support residents to build their capacity and champion interdependence empowering individuals to shape their own lives according to their will and preferences, both in their homes and within their community. This role focuses on promoting personal development and meaningful service delivery, within the context of the quality-of-life model.

The successful candidate will report to the Regional Manager and will work as an integral part of the regional team.
Essential Qualifications:
- Honours Degree in Social Studies/Social Care or equivalent qualification.
- Have a qualification in management.
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Suite and use of internet and email.
- Hold a valid driver’s licence.
Desirable Qualifications:
Essential Experience:
- A minimum of 3 years’ experience in a management or supervisory role in the area of Health or Social Care.
- Have an in dept knowledge of the duties and responsibilities of the PIC and HIQA standards.
- Knowledge of relevant
- Experience managing and adhering to budgets as agreed by the Finance Dept.
- Roster and staff allocation as per service needs or requirements.
- Ability to support and drive change management.
- Confidence and experience negotiating and liaising with external stakeholders.
Desirable Experience:
A knowledge of the HIQA standards- Experience of applying the National Standards for Residential Services for Children and Adults with Disabilities, Trust in Care and Adult Safeguarding
- Experience in a similar role
- Have knowledge and experience supporting Autistic people and/or those with Intellectual Disability.
- Trained as a Designated Safeguarding Officer
