About Us:

At Noone Transport, we take pride in delivering efficient, reliable, and safe logistics solutions. Our commitment to excellence drives everything we do, and we’re now seeking a proactive Site Operative to support our yard operations.

The Role:

As a Shunter Driver/Site Operative, you will be responsible for ensuring our yard runs smoothly and efficiently. Your role will involve a variety of tasks, from inspecting vehicles and trailers to maintaining a clean and organising yard, and assisting with essential mechanical duties. You will also liaise with our transport department to coordinate maintenance and preparation activities.

Key Responsibilities:

Loading & Unloading Preparation: Shunt trailers to & from loading bays to assist warehouse operations. Park trailers in designated areas and prepare refrigerated trailers by connecting to power when needed.
Vehicle & Trailer Inspections: Conduct checks for wear, tear, and damage; report any issues immediately.
Washing & Cleaning: Regularly wash trucks and trailers to uphold company standards and maintain hygiene.
Tyre Maintenance: Monitor tyre conditions, perform replacements, and ensure proper inflation.
Safety Equipment & Inspections: Inspect headlights, taillights, fire extinguishers, and other safety components; replace any faulty parts promptly.
Yard Organisation: Keep the yard tidy and support maintenance to ensure a safe working environment.
Mechanical Assistance: Work with mechanics by assisting vehicle and trailer movements and minor repairs.
Communication & Coordination: Work closely with the transport department to schedule maintenance, refuel vehicles, and ensure all necessary equipment is onboard.

Key Requirements:

Previous experience in vehicle maintenance, yard operations, or a related role is preferred.
Strong attention to detail, organisational skills, and a proactive approach.
Ability to work both independently and as part of a team in a dynamic environment.
Good communication skills for effective coordination with various departments.
