Full job description

Fenton Commercials Ltd Ireland is looking to recruit a HGV mechanic for its maintenance workshop in Fermoy, Co. Cork. The position involves the maintenance, repair and periodic safety checks on a wide variety of makes and models of heavy and light commercial vehicles.

We have a well equipped 6 bay workshop. This would be the ideal opportunity for someone looking to relocate to Ireland.

The ideal candidate should:

Be a fully qualified HGV mechanic/or have extensive experience in the maintenance and repairs to trucks, trailers and vans.
Be able to inspect, diagnose and repair vehicles to a high standard.
Have experience in repairing and diagnosing ABS/EBS brake systems.
Have some experience using vehicle diagnostics.
Have some welding and fabrication experience.
Be an excellent communicator both written and verbal.

As a small family run business, we work with our employees to make sure they fit in and build a good working relationship.
We can assist with single room accommodation for a candidate that is re-locating.
Standard Monday-Friday hours with no after-hours call outs necessary under usual circumstances. The candidate may be asked to work Saturday mornings under exceptional circumstances.
We carry out a variety of work ranging from fleet maintenance for large fleets, mechanical repairs for single vehicle operators, refurbishments and fabrication works. Our workshop is equipped with all large tools and equipment but it would be expected that the candidate would have their own hand tools which could be supplied on a pay back agreement.
