Applegreen is in a rapid growth phase and has recently upgraded the backoffice operations to the latest generation SAP S/4 Hana. The systems are being supported by a SAP Centre of Excellence (CoE), responsible for best in class delivery of SAP support to a growing/multi country user community. The SAP CoE will be a fast-moving proactive support function. Through a disciplined governance process that aligns priorities and by delivering quick wins and simple business solutions, the SAP CoE is focused on meeting our customers expectations while delivering service second to none. Our CoE aims to educate and empower, joining forces across teams to connect solutions and eliminate issues. And in turn switch attention to continuous improvement opportunities.
Leading a small team within the COE, you will play a key role in the ongoing support and continued development of Retail Sales & Fuel functions. The role requires leadership accountability with a focus on process driven performance, intense collaboration with both team and customer, thoughtful, fast and disciplined execution. We are looking for someone with passionate customer focus and a tenacious commitment to continuous improvement. You will be accountable for the services that the team deliver to the customer and will ensure that agreed service level targets as well as levels of quality are managed and maintained. You will continually strive to improve the services delivered by the team and drive improvement initiatives as agreed.
Key Responsibilities:
- Be the SAP IS Retail Functional expert across Applegreen
- Establish and maintain effective relationships with internal clients at all levels of the organization
- Closely collaborating with key Stakeholders, drive the development of the function in all areas and manage the prioritization of all activities
- Manage Stakeholder communication across the business groups to ensure a seamless service
- Provide the relevant support for the super users and end users of SAP
- Lead the continued design efforts of future processes in this area, leveraging SAP Solutions to achieve desired results
- Drive the analysis, implementation, testing and documentation of new and enhanced systems and processes
- Manage individuals within the COE Retail Sales & Fuel team to support them in their development and to meet their objectives
- Provide day to day oversight of the teams activities, ensuring agreed deliverables are met
- Identify problems by analysing trends of incidents and work with your team, colleagues and partners to resolve them in a timely manner
- Identify potential efficiencies / alternate uses based on SAP experience
- Coordinate with other COE sub-teams and offshore resources as required
- Participate in change management & communication activities
- Support the training & development of the team, ensuring that they have the right skills
- Work closely with Finance and the Retail Operations teams (Trading & Distribution, Buyers, Food, Sites) across the Group to allow effective prioritization of the demand on the team
- Work with the COE Lead to contribute to the strategic direction of the COE function, incorporating industry and system best practices
- Keep abreast of industry trends and cultivate an SAP support network
- Stay up to date in SAP developments and how they can be leveraged for Applegreen
The Candidate should have the following:
Qualifications and Experience:
- 5+ years experience in SAP Sales, Retail and POS Integrations. Preferably in SAP IS Retail.
- 2+ years in a similar support role or experience conducting business process improvement / business process reengineering efforts.
- 3+ years prior supply chain management experience with familiarity of demand & supply planning and inventory management
- Demonstrated understanding of integration points with SD, MM and FI/CO modules
- Strong emphasis on business understanding with reference to SAP environments/upcoming technologies in SAP
- Strong functional knowledge of IT systems; to include practical knowledge of Microsoft Office (intermediate to advanced).
- Strong background in the fuel and food forecourt retail industry
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, in terms of both data and process management
- Detailed orientated with ability to also understand and see the broader impacts
- Confident and professional communication skills throughout the business
- Ability to work independently and as part of a broader team with strong team building skills
- Focus on excellence and results; Holds accountability for commitments and deliverables
- Ability to sell a concept and get it over the line for the good of the business
- Ability to interact with IT resources when technology roles and capabilities are required to facilitate any aspects of the COE process
