What Is the Opportunity?
We are recruiting for a Claims Handler to join our team on a permanent, full-time basis in our Dublin office.
We are looking for someone with strong experience handling motor material damage claims, in addition to liability claims across EL, PL, and Motor. Candidates must hold an APA designation.
In this role you will provide expert claims handling across investigation, evaluation, negotiation, and resolution, working in accordance with the Company's policies, procedures, and best practices at all times. You will support the Claims Management team by delivering quality claims handling and excellent customer service, ensuring the Claims function runs effectively and that service standards are consistently maintained. This role does not have people management responsibilities.
This is a Controlled Function (CF6) role within the Senior Executive Accountability Regime (SEAR), as set out in the Individual Accountability Framework (IAF) Act 2023, and is subject to the rules and regulations of the relevant regulators. As part of this, we will assess and certify that you meet the applicable Fitness and Probity (F&P) standards upon appointment and on an annual basis thereafter. You will also be required to abide by the Conduct Standards under SEAR. Travelers Europe currently offers flexibility to employees who wish to work on a hybrid basis in accordance with our Hybrid Work Arrangements Policy. This entails full time employees working three days a week in the office and two days at home (or pro rata for part-time employees). This policy may be changed at the Company’s discretion.
What Will You Do?

Analyses and applies policy coverage accurately to all assigned claims.

Investigates assigned claims.

Negotiates and settles claims proactively in accordance with Company guidelines and best practices.

Reserves claims accurately in accordance with Company guidelines and best practices.

Ensures that Company service standards are upheld.

Maintains data accuracy.

Instructs, liaises with and manages external vendors and monitors the quality and cost of their services, ensuring required technical and service standards are met.

Authorises claim payments and reserves within agreed claims handling authority.

Provides technical advice. Develops and maintains effective business relationships both externally and internally.

Works as a team member providing such support as required by other members of the team and fully participates in individual and shared project work.

Assists Senior Claim Professionals and others with larger and more complex claims, where required.

Openly communicates knowledge of his/her actions with manager and colleagues in order to consider and better understand the impact on other technical, operational, sales and financial disciplines.

Proactively participates in training and other learning and development activities to maintain and enhance technical knowledge and other skills.

Perform other duties as assigned.

What is a Must Have?

Must have a minimum of Accredited Product Advisor (APA) qualification.

Some prior insurance related activity experience (e.g. paralegal, insurance operations, insurance broker).
