About WH Scott
WH Scott Group is Ireland and the UK's leading independent provider of lifting and industrial safety
solutions. Established in 1897, the Group designs, fabricates, supplies, maintains, inspects and certifies
equipment used in highly regulated lifting and industrial markets, operating across government, utilities,
transport, construction, pharma and marine sectors.
The Group operates through specialised entities including WH Scott & Son Engineers, Hiltonne Engineers,
Metlab, Re-Ropes and RHC Lifting, with production, stores and offices across Ireland, the UK and Bosnia,
and a combined team of around 300 people - making it the largest independent lift solutions provider in the
UK and Ireland.
Role Purpose
The Junior Project Manager will take ownership of the planning, delivery and commercial management of a
portfolio of smaller-scale lifting equipment, fabrication and engineering projects, working under the guidance
and mentorship of the Group Project Manager. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with some
project or site experience who is ready to take the next step into managing their own projects end-to-end -
from scoping and scheduling through to safe, on-time, on-budget delivery - while developing towards a full
Project Manager role.
Key Responsibilities
Project Delivery & Management
Take ownership of the end-to-end delivery of a portfolio of smaller or less complex projects, from scoping
and planning through to close-out.
Develop and maintain project plans, schedules and milestones, proactively identifying and managing
risks, issues and delays.
Ensure projects are delivered safely, on time, to budget and to specification, escalating to senior Project
Managers where support is needed.
Co-ordinate site surveys, installations, servicing and statutory inspection/examination visits, working
closely with engineers and site teams.
Commercial & Financial Management
Monitor project costs against budget, tracking variations, purchase orders and supplier invoices.
Support the preparation of quotations, valuations and invoicing milestones, working with Finance and
senior Project Managers.
Assist in identifying and managing change or variation requests through to commercial sign-off.
Stakeholder & Customer Management
Act as the day-to-day point of contact for customers on allocated projects, providing clear, timely
progress updates.
Liaise with subcontractors, suppliers and internal departments (Design, Fabrication, Procurement, Field
Service) to confirm scope, timelines and resource requirements.
Build strong working relationships with customers, engineers and suppliers, representing WH Scott
professionally at all times.
Documentation & Compliance
Prepare and issue project documentation, including RAMS, lift plans, method statements, technical
submittals and certification packs.
Maintain accurate records of inspection reports, certifications and compliance documentation in line with
relevant lifting equipment regulations.
Ensure project files, contracts and correspondence are complete, current and properly maintained.
Systems & Reporting
Maintain accurate project and sales order data within Business Central and other internal systems.
Produce regular progress and financial reports for the Projects team and senior management.
Contribute to the continuous improvement of project management processes, templates and ways of
working.

Working towards, or holding, a recognised project management qualification (e.g. PRINCE2
