We are seeking a Senior Electronics Engineer on a permanent basis to join our team.

About the role:
Boston Scientific is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to join the Hardware electronic R&D team at the Neuromodulation Division.
Neuromodulation portfolio offers comprehensive, clinically proven solutions that enhance the quality of life for patients worldwide by silencing pain and treating movement disorders. Team members will apply their expertise across all stages of product development, from concept through commercialization. As a key member of a cross-functional team, the individual will be responsible for designing, testing, and troubleshooting electrical systems, driving innovation, enhancing product reliability, and maintaining engineering excellence in the development of electronic hardware for medical devices used in pain management and movement disorder therapies.
Key Responsibilities:

Design and analyze analog and digital circuitry for medical systems
-
Create and maintain engineering documentation, including requirements, schematics, assembly drawings, and BOMs
-
Define and execute verification strategies for EMC and electrical safety
-
Interpret and apply IEC 60601-series standards, including collateral and particular standards applicable to specific product types.

Analyze emissions and immunity test failures and lead root cause investigations
-
Participate in risk management activities in accordance with company SOPs
-
Lead and participate in design reviews—providing feedback on your own work and your peers’.

Perform component-level testing and analysis using lab equipment
-
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to refine specifications, improve processes, and optimize yield and cost

Write and manage system and subsystem requirements through systems and component engineering
-
Ensure all documentation complies with internal Quality System requirements

Assist in the design, execution, and documentation of test protocols and reports.
Education & Experience:
Required qualifications:
-
Level 8 Hons Bachelor’s Degree or higher in electrical engineering or a related field
-
Minimum of five years of experience in electrical/Electronic engineering, with emphasis on product development or similar environments
-
Experience with analog and digital circuit design, simulation, and analysis
-
Demonstrated experience with EMC testing and regulatory compliance for medical devices
-
Experience operating standard electrical test instruments such as digital multimeters, oscilloscopes, network analyzers, spectrum analyzer and signal generators, as well as using manual tools including soldering irons, crimpers, screwdrivers, etc.

Proficiency with electronic design software tools used for schematic capture and printed circuit board (PCB) layout review

Ability to convey technical concepts clearly in both written documentation and verbal communication

Ability to work independently, manage tasks, and collaborate effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team

Ability to collaborate cross-functionally across engineering, quality, regulatory, and manufacturing disciplines
-
Ability to travel up to 25%
Preferred qualifications:
-
Experience in a regulated industry, preferably with Class II or III medical devices
-
Working knowledge of ISO 14708, EN 60601, IEC 62304 and FDA Quality System Regulations
-
Experience in EMC modelling, simulation, and signal intefrity anlaysis
-
Familiarity with IEC 61000 and/or CISPR standards
-
Background in systems engineering and requirements management
-
Experience with radiofrequency (RF) design up to the low GHz range
