Employee Experience and Productivity (EEP) is part of IS&T and delivers some of the most widely used communication and productivity technology and services across Apple - from tools that enable collaboration to the support teams that keep Apple's workforce running. EEP also leads user experience design and research, and manages the systems behind Apple's original content studios. Within this team is Employee Engagement & Engineering, a small, global team that quickly delivers with long-term vision, building durable, reliable systems meant to last. Our focus is on crafting high-quality, user-centred experiences - delivering AI and system interoperability to make every interaction intuitive, seamless, and genuinely useful for the people who rely on our tools.

Description
As a Swift Software Engineer on the EEE team, you will take ownership of features and components across the full development lifecycle. You build native macOS, iOS, and iPadOS applications in Swift and SwiftUI - designing thoughtful interactions, integrating AI capabilities where they enhance the experience, and leveraging platform interoperability to create applications that feel connected and natural.

You contribute independently to technical design, deliver quality results with limited guidance, and collaborate actively with cross-functional partners. In a team this size, you own meaningful pieces of the product and your engineering decisions have direct impact on the experience thousands of Apple employees have every day.","responsibilities":"Design, develop, and maintain native application features in Swift and SwiftUI across macOS, iOS, and iPadOS
Own features end-to-end: from requirements and technical design through implementation, testing, deployment, and iteration
Build features that leverage AI and platform services to enhance usability - surfacing intelligence contextually and reducing manual effort
Integrate with system frameworks (App Intents, Shortcuts, extensions) to create connected, interoperable experiences
Write thorough automated tests (unit, integration, UI) and contribute to a culture of engineering quality
Conduct and participate in code reviews; provide and receive constructive technical feedback
Partner with designers and product managers to translate requirements into polished, accessible solutions
Diagnose, debug, and resolve production issues; contribute to post-incident learnings
Maintain clear technical documentation for systems, APIs, and design decisions

Preferred Qualifications
B.S. or M.S. in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent experience
Familiarity with accessibility best practices and inclusive design on Apple platforms
Strong understanding of Apple platform frameworks (Combine, Swift Concurrency, SwiftData or Core Data)
Experience integrating AI/ML capabilities into applications (Core ML, Foundation Models framework, or LLM APIs)
Familiarity with App Intents, Shortcuts, WidgetKit, or other platform interoperability frameworks
Experience building localised applications for a global user base
Knowledge of CI/CD tooling and automated testing practices for Apple platforms
Experience working within enterprise or internal platform environments
Strong communication skills with the ability to work effectively across time zones

Minimum Qualifications
Proficiency in Swift and SwiftUI, with demonstrated experience shipping production applications on macOS, iOS, or iPadOS
Experience with RESTful API integration and client-side data architecture
Solid understanding of software design principles, data structures, and algorithms
