Role Overview:
We are looking for an execution-oriented, analytically driven Product Manager II for our Data Security portfolio. This role primarily focuses on delivering core capabilities for our industry-leading Data Loss Prevention (DLP) products across Endpoint, Network, and Discovery, while providing targeted product support for our portfolio of Data Encryption solutions.
Sitting at the intersection of customers, engineering, UX, customer engagement, and product strategy, you will help solve complex data protection problems. You will be directly responsible for translating product strategy, customer input, competitive analysis, and operational feedback into actionable epics, feature requirements, and user stories. Partnering closely with engineering, you will ensure our data security solutions meet rigorous enterprise expectations and deliver clear differentiation in the market.
About the Role:
1. Product Execution, User Stories & Engineering Collaboration
Backlog & Story Ownership: Partner with stakeholders to write detailed user stories, define clear Acceptance Criteria, and maintain a prioritized backlog aligned with release cadences.
Translate Requirements into Deliverables: Break down complex security workflows (e.g., data classification, policy enforcement, incident management, web protection) into crisp product requirements that engineering teams can execute efficiently.
Release Execution & Validation: Drive feature execution from initial grooming through sprint execution, release planning, acceptance validation, and release readiness.
Complex Problem Solving: Using available metrics, engineering inputs, and customer data, resolve technical trade-offs, help prioritize customer requests, and identify functional dependencies across DLP and Encryption.
2. Customer Engagement & Market Differentiation
Customer & Field Engagement: Assist with customer input and manage beta testing programs. Collaborate with customers and internal sales engineers to understand data governance workflows, policy friction, and operational challenges.
Data-Driven Prioritization: Help evaluate customer escalations, feature requests, and usability enhancements, prioritizing backlog items based on business impact, customer tier, and financial impact.
Competitive Intelligence: Maintain a working knowledge of the competitive data security landscape to identify market differentiators and build capabilities that give Trellix a distinct edge.
3. Portfolio Scope & Cross-Functional Leadership
Primary Focus — Data Loss Prevention (DLP): Own feature delivery for endpoint, discovery, and network DLP, focusing on customer experience and delivering features that meet customer needs.
Secondary Support — Data Encryption: Support encryption initiatives (Drive Encryption, File/Folder encryption, and native management). Help ensure seamless coexistence with DLP products and provide support for the Encryption product PM team as needed.
Cross-Functional Alignment: Collaborate with Sales, Product Marketing, Customer Success, and Program Management to align launch readiness across teams and support go-to-market activities.
About You
Experience & Qualifications
Experience: Minimum of 5 years of related experience with a Bachelor’s degree, or 3 years with a Master’s degree (Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Engineering, or a related technical field).
Cybersecurity Domain: Hands-on experience with Data Loss Prevention (DLP), Full Disk / File Encryption technologies, or cybersecurity products
Agile/SAFe Proficiency (Preferred): Proven experience writing high-quality user stories, defining acceptance criteria, and managing backlogs.
Engineering Collaboration: Strong track record of partnering closely with software engineering and UX teams to build technical enterprise software.
Independent Problem Solving: Demonstrated ability to analyze multiple data sources, solve complex technical problems independently, and operate with minimal guidance.
Communication: Exceptional oral and written communication skills with a proven track record of building cross-functional relationships across career areas.
AI-Powered Productivity: Familiarity with leveraging AI-driven tools and workflows to enhance productivity, automate tasks, and drive more effective product outcomes.
