Corporate: Engage in a deep variety of business-critical activities that keep our company running efficiently. From strategic marketing and financial management to human resources and operational oversight, you’ll have the opportunity to optimize processes and implement game-changing policies.
Responsibilities:
Position Purpose: You’ll own the data and risk-feed backbone of the Intelligent Risk Team — building the backend services that ingest, process and model client data (budgets, financial and physical positions) and turn it into the custom, AI-augmented risk feeds that power personalized, client-specific risk views across Nexus Intelligence. Your work directly underpins KnowRisk position & budget modeling, the Strategy Builder hedge engine, and the AI risk models that run on client data. As a senior, hands-on member of a lean agile team, you’ll have real ownership over the architecture, quality and direction of the risk-data platform.
Tech Stack You’ll Work With
-
Languages & Frameworks: C#, .NET Core, ASP.NET Core
-
Architecture: Microservices, event-driven (Kafka, ActiveMQ), CQRS
-
Data & Pipelines: high-throughput ingestion, transformation & normalization; time-series and positional/financial data; custom data and risk feeds
-
Cloud & Infra: Azure, Kubernetes, Docker, Rancher, TeamCity, Octopus, Grafana
-
Databases: MS SQL Server (T-SQL), PostgreSQL, NoSQL
-
Tooling: GitHub, Visual Studio Code, Visual Studio / Rider, ReSharper
-
AI Tools: GitHub Copilot, MS Copilot, Anthropic Claude (incl. Claude Code); integrating with AI risk models and AI-assisted development workflows
Primary Duties Will Include
-
Design and build scalable, low-latency backend services that ingest, transform, normalize and serve client data — budgets, financial positions and physical positions — that powers risk modeling across the Risk & AI Vertical.
-
Build and operate the custom data and risk feeds that deliver personalized, client-specific risk views, including KnowRisk position & budget modelling and Strategy Builder hedge recommendations.
-
Process user data and usage signals, and expose them to AI risk models so insights and recommendations adapt to each client’s portfolio, exposures and permissions.
-
Architect event-driven pipelines (Kafka / ActiveMQ) for high-throughput, reliable processing, and expose data to downstream Nexus surfaces via well-designed APIs and streams.
-
Own data quality, lineage, entitlement and security across sensitive client data, applying best practices for permissioning, encryption and auditability in a regulated environment.
-
Partner with the Data & Analytics team on upstream intake and with the Intelligence Weaving team on surfacing risk insights across other Nexus domains.
-
Participate in code reviews, design sessions and agile ceremonies; provide design diagrams and documentation for the systems you build.
-
Act as a technical mentor and a source of guidance, anticipating issues at the product level and making architecture and design decisions to avoid them.
-
Continuously explore and evaluate new technologies — including AI tooling — that could improve the risk-data platform.
Qualifications:
To Land this role you will need:
-
5+ years of professional backend development experience with C# / .NET (.NET Core).
-
Strong experience building and operating data processing pipelines — ingestion, transformation, normalization — and working with large or high-throughput datasets.
-
Hands-on experience with event-driven / messaging systems such as Kafka or ActiveMQ and asynchronous data processing.
-
Solid relational database skills with Microsoft SQL Server (T-SQL) and/or PostgreSQL, plus experience with NoSQL; comfortable designing schemas and writing optimized queries.
-
Experience designing and building RESTful (and/or gRPC) APIs for scalability, performance, security and high availability.
-
Hands-on experience with Kubernetes and Docker, and cloud services (Azure preferred).
-
Strong grasp of distributed systems, multithreading and performance, and of cross-cutting concerns: authentication, authorization, permissioning, caching, logging and security.
-
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work with sensitive client data responsibly.
-
Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate across technical and non-technical teams; fluent in English (spoken and written).
-
A growth mindset and eagerness to stay current with industry trends.
What makes you stand out:
-
Experience with risk management, hedging, commodities, or financial markets — or a strong desire to learn.
-
Exposure to AI / ML model integration, feature/usage pipelines, or AI-augmented data products.
-
Experience with AI-assisted development tools (GitHub Copilot, MS Copilot, Anthropic Claude / Claude Code, Cursor).
-
Experience with time-series data, data warehouses, ETL, and data-lineage / cataloguing.
-
Familiarity with infrastructure-as-code and CI/CD pipelines.
-
Demonstrated leadership / mentorship experience.
Education
-
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field — or equivalent hands-on experience.
Working Environment
-
4 days in office per week
