We are seeking an experienced English and German-Speaking Accounts & Finance Manager to join our head office team in Kingswood Business Park, Dublin 22.
This is a key position supporting the financial and commercial administration of construction and engineering projects being undertaken across Germany.
The successful candidate will be based at our Dublin head office and will work closely with management in Ireland while liaising directly with our site teams, suppliers, subcontractors, professional advisers and other stakeholders in Germany.
The role requires a strong practical accounts background together with professional fluency in both German and English and demonstrable knowledge or experience of German accounting and/or taxation procedures.
Working Hours
- Monday to Thursday: 9.00am – 5.00pm
- Friday: 9.00am – 4.00pm
- No weekend work
Key Responsibilities
The successful candidate's responsibilities will include:
- Management and administration of accounts relating to projects undertaken in Germany
- Liaising with German-speaking suppliers, subcontractors, site personnel and professional advisers
- Accounts payable and accounts receivable
- Supplier and subcontractor account reconciliation
- Preparation and processing of payments
- Customer and project invoicing
- Bank and account reconciliations
- Monitoring project expenditure, commitments and cashflow
- Assisting with monthly management accounts and financial reporting
- Maintaining accurate project cost and financial records
- Supporting management with financial information relating to German operations
- Liaising with German accountants, tax advisers and other professional service providers
- Assisting with German VAT and other applicable tax and accounting compliance requirements
- Supporting payroll and employment-related financial administration where required
- Ensuring appropriate documentation and financial records are maintained for German operations
- Assisting with year-end accounts, audits and statutory reporting
- Coordinating financial information between the Dublin head office and German project operations
Essential Requirements
Applicants must have:
- Professional fluency in German and English, both written and spoken
- A minimum of 4–5 years' relevant accounts, finance or taxation experience
- Practical experience or strong working knowledge of German accounting operations and/or German taxation
- Strong accounts payable, accounts receivable and reconciliation experience
- Excellent Microsoft Excel and accounting software skills
- Strong organisational and analytical ability
- Excellent attention to detail
- The ability to communicate confidently with German-speaking professional and commercial stakeholders
- The ability to work independently and take ownership of the financial administration of international projects
- A high degree of confidentiality and professionalism
Desirable Experience
Experience in any of the following would be particularly advantageous:
- German VAT and taxation procedures
- Cross-border EU accounting and VAT
- German payroll or employment-related financial administration
- Construction, mechanical, engineering or contracting industries
- Project accounting and cost control
- Working with German accountants, tax advisers or statutory authorities
- Supporting an Irish or international company undertaking projects in Germany
Formal accounting or taxation qualifications are advantageous; however, demonstrable practical experience of German accounting and/or taxation operations is essential.
The Role
This is an opportunity to take on a responsible position within a growing business undertaking significant projects within the German market.
The successful candidate will become an important link between our Dublin head office and our German project operations, supporting management in ensuring that financial, accounting and administrative requirements are properly coordinated across both jurisdictions.
Salary: €60,000–€70,000 per annum, depending on experience, qualifications and level of German accounting/tax expertise.
