As a Senior Cloud Platform Engineer, you'll help shape and run secure, scalable cloud platforms that enable teams across the Bank to build and deploy services with confidence.
You'll focus on automation, strong guardrails and resilient design, with a particular emphasis on enabling AI services in our cloud environments.
This role offers the chance to work at scale, influence standards, and make a real impact on how cloud is adopted across Bank of Ireland.
- Design, build and run secure, highly available cloud platform services across Amazon Web Services (AWS) and Microsoft Azure, with a focus on enabling AI workloads.
- Develop automation and serverless solutions, using Infrastructure as Code and continuous integration and delivery (CI/CD) practices.
- Implement and operate cloud landing zones, including account provisioning, governance controls and security guardrails.
- Partner with Cloud Architects and engineering teams to translate designs into practical, reliable solutions and promote platform standards.
- Monitor, optimise and continuously improve platform components to ensure reliability, performance and compliance.
You bring strong experience designing and operating cloud platforms, with a solid understanding of security, governance and automation. You're comfortable working with AWS services such as Lambda, Identity and Access Management (IAM), networking and logging, and you enjoy building reusable Infrastructure as Code modules using tools like CloudFormation, Python and Terraform.
You communicate clearly, collaborate well with technical and non-technical colleagues, and enjoy documenting patterns and sharing knowledge.
A curious mindset and a drive to improve how platforms are built and used will help you succeed in this role.
Experience with the following will help you stand out but is not required to apply for this role:
- Experience in regulated or financial services environments.
- AWS certifications and exposure to container platforms, AI AWS Services and non-native CI/CD tooling
- Knowledge of Zero Trust principles or service mesh and API gateway concepts.
