The Service Estimator is responsible for preparing accurate, timely and commercially competitive quotations for service, maintenance, repair and small works across the Service Division. This includes hospitality systems, automatic doors, access control, general service works and associated products.
The successful candidate will work closely with the Service Operations Manager, Engineers and Sales Team to maximise quotation conversion, profitability and customer satisfaction.
Reports To: Service Operations Manager
- Prepare detailed quotations for:
- Service repairs
- Planned preventative maintenance (PPM)
- Small works projects
- Upgrades and replacements
- Automatic door repairs and installations
- Hospitality locking systems
- Access control and security systems
- Review engineer reports and site surveys to determine scope of works.
- Obtain competitive pricing from suppliers and subcontractors.
- Calculate labour and material costs accurately.
- Ensure quotations achieve agreed gross margin targets.
- Issue quotations within agreed response times.
- Liaise with customers to clarify technical requirements where required.
- Work closely with Operations to ensure smooth handover of successful quotations.
- Maintain accurate records on the company’s CRM/service management system.
- Identify opportunities for additional sales and service contracts.
- Assist with tender submissions where appropriate.
- Monitor supplier pricing and recommend alternative products were beneficial.
- Produce regular reports on quotation volumes, conversion rates, and pipeline.

Essential
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in estimating or technical service administration.
- Experience within one or more of:
- Automatic doors
- Building services
- Fire and security
- Hospitality systems
- Facilities management
- Construction or engineering services.
- Strong commercial awareness.
- Excellent numerical and analytical skills.
- Ability to interpret technical reports and drawings.
- High level of proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office.
- Strong organisational and planning skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication.
