Day Rate: Dependent on experience
Contract Duration: 12 months (initial assignment, with scope for extension)
Location: Dublin 2 – Hybrid, 1–2 days per week onsite
Engagement Structure: PAYE or Umbrella Company only
Salary Range: €65,000 - €95,000
Join PlayStation's global initiative to build innovative test automation solutions within a sophisticated engineering environment. You’ll work closely with engineers, product owners and designers to ensure high-quality products and services for millions of users.
This role has a particular focus on backend and data quality, so we’re looking for an experienced SDET with strong automation skills alongside hands-on experience testing databases, SQL and modern data platforms such as Snowflake and Databricks.

Design, develop and execute comprehensive test strategies, test plans and test cases across UI, API, backend and data systems.

Develop and execute SQL-based testing and validation to ensure data accuracy, integrity and consistency across systems.

Test and validate data pipelines, transformations and workflows across platforms such as Snowflake and Databricks.

Collaborate closely with software engineers, product managers and cross-functional teams to define test coverage and quality goals early in the development lifecycle.

Build, maintain and scale robust automation frameworks for UI, API, backend and end-to-end testing.

Develop reusable test utilities, APIs and libraries to improve efficiency and consistency in automation.

Maintain and enhance existing automation frameworks using technologies such as Python and Selenium.

Partner with infrastructure teams to design, implement and optimise CI/CD pipelines and quality gates.

Analyse test results and data, identify root causes of defects and work with development teams to drive timely resolution.

Continuously improve quality engineering practices by introducing new standards, tools and processes.

Advocate for a shift-left testing approach, embedding quality practices throughout the software development lifecycle.

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.

5+ years of experience in software testing, quality engineering or test automation.

3+ years of hands-on experience with test automation across API, backend and/or UI systems.

Strong SQL skills and hands-on experience testing and validating databases and data.

Experience working with Snowflake, Databricks or comparable modern data platforms.

Experience testing data pipelines, data transformations and/or ETL/ELT workflows.
