Job Description:
With a strong Data Centre project pipeline and continued expansion of our product offerings and markets, we are seeking ana site-based HVAC project Engineer to join our team on a full-time basis. The role is based in Portugal with some requirements to travel.
The Site-Based HVAC Project Engineer is responsible for managing and coordinating HVAC installation works on site, ensuring projects are delivered safely, on schedule, within budget, and to the required quality standards.
This is a great opportunity for a person with the necessary experience related to building services, HVAC or data centre construction.
Core duties:
Coordinate and supervise daily HVAC installation activities, managing subcontractors and ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with project requirements
Develop, maintain, and monitor detailed project delivery schedules and work plans, tracking progress against programme milestones and reporting on site performance
Review technical drawings, specifications, and submittals, resolving installation and engineering issues to support successful project delivery
Liaise with clients, consultants, manufacturing teams, and other project stakeholders, attending site meetings and undertaking occasional visits to manufacturing facilities as required
Ensure compliance with health, safety, quality, and environmental standards while coordinating testing, commissioning, system handovers, and maintaining accurate project records and documentation
Essential Skills:
Degree or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Building Services Engineering, or a related discipline.
Experience delivering HVAC, mechanical services, or MEP projects within commercial, industrial, healthcare, pharmaceutical, data centre, or similar environments
Strong technical knowledge of HVAC systems, including AHUs, FCUs, chillers, heat pumps, ductwork, and pipework installations, with the ability to interpret engineering drawings and specifications
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and engineering design software, with experience reviewing AutoCAD, BIM/Revit, and SolidWorks drawings being advantageous
Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and organisational skills, with the ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and deliver projects within scope, budget, and programme requirements
Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, capable of conveying technical information clearly and managing client, contractor, and project team expectations effectively
Willingness to travel occasionally within Europe, with valid EU working rights/visa required; fluency in Portuguese would be a distinct advantage
