Réalta Technologies is searching for a Digital Engineer to support our Pharmaceutical client based in Cork. The successful candidate will serve as the digital lead for the Facilities function, driving digital transformation through data, analytics, automation, and business process improvement. Operating independently, the role is responsible for the end-to-end digital landscape within Facilities department, from identifying opportunities and defining solutions to development, deployment, support, and adoption.
The position combines strong technical expertise, pharmaceutical business acumen, and project delivery capabilities to ensure digital solutions provide measurable business value while maintaining compliance, quality, and operational excellence.
Job Responsibilities
- Act as the digital lead and primary subject matter expert for the Facilities function, developing and delivering the digital roadmap aligned with business priorities.
- Partner with local, global, and cross-functional stakeholders to identify opportunities for process improvement, automation, and data-driven decision making while promoting digital adoption and continuous improvement.
- Manage the end-to-end data lifecycle, including data integration, modelling, governance, and visualisation, ensuring the accuracy, integrity, and reliability of business-critical data.
- Design, develop, and maintain SQL, Databricks, and Power BI solutions that deliver actionable insights and support operational and strategic decision making.
- Design, develop, deploy, and support Power Apps and Power Automate solutions that streamline Facilities processes and improve operational efficiency.
- Integrate enterprise systems, databases, APIs, and business applications to deliver scalable, sustainable digital solutions.
- Lead digital projects from concept through deployment, applying Agile project management practices to deliver measurable business value.
- Gather, analyse, and translate business requirements into technical solutions, ensuring projects are delivered on time and meet stakeholder expectations.
- Provide ongoing support, maintenance, and continuous improvement of digital solutions to maximise performance, reliability, and user adoption.
- Ensure all digital solutions comply with GMP/GxP, data governance, quality, and pharmaceutical regulatory requirements while maintaining appropriate documentation, system controls, and audit readiness.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Analytics, or a related technical discipline.
- Minimum of 4 years' experience delivering digital, data analytics, or business intelligence solutions within a regulated manufacturing environment.
- Strong experience developing SQL queries and working with relational databases to extract, transform, and analyse complex datasets.
- Hands-on experience using Databricks or similar enterprise data platforms to build scalable data solutions and support advanced analytics.
- Proven ability to design and develop interactive Power BI dashboards, reports, and data models using DAX to deliver meaningful business insights.
- Experience developing low-code business applications using Microsoft Power Apps and automating workflows through Power Automate.
- Knowledge of integrating enterprise systems, databases, APIs, and business applications to enable efficient data exchange and digital workflows.
- Good understanding of data architecture, data governance, and best practices for maintaining data quality, integrity, and security.
- Experience delivering reporting, analytics, and data visualisation solutions that support operational performance and business decision-making.
- Good understanding of enterprise asset management, maintenance, or facilities systems (e.g. ERP, CMMS) and the supporting IT infrastructure.
- Strong understanding of pharmaceutical manufacturing environments, including GMP/GxP principles and regulatory compliance requirements.
- Experience analysing business processes, identifying improvement opportunities, and implementing digital solutions that deliver measurable business value.
- Working knowledge of Agile delivery methodologies and project management principles, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and stakeholders.
- Excellent stakeholder management, communication, and influencing skills, with the ability to translate business needs into practical technical solutions.
