As the Fabric and Azure Platform Specialist, you will be a member of the team responsible for establishing, operating and improving the platform capabilities that support advanced analytics, AI and enterprise data products. You will help shape the future of EirGrid’s data platform by administering Microsoft Fabric and related Azure platform services, strengthening governance and security controls, and enabling reliable, scalable and well-managed delivery for stakeholders across the organisation and the wider energy sector.
Microsoft Purview will form an important secondary part of the role, supporting the configuration, operation and automation of governance capabilities that enable trusted data discovery, metadata management and compliant platform use. Managing the Data Platform’s Azure DevOps will also be part of the role, supporting source control connections to Workspaces, CI/CD, release automation and repeatable platform operations.
Key Responsibilities

-
Configure and maintain platform foundations including workspaces, capacities, storage, networking, identity integration and environment settings.
-
Implement and operate platform governance controls covering access management, environment standards, monitoring, auditability, policy compliance and integration with Microsoft Purview governance capabilities.
-
Support the secure onboarding of data products, platform services and relevant data sources in line with enterprise security, privacy, Purview and data governance requirements.
-
Develop and maintain CI/CD, infrastructure automation, environment management and repeatable operational processes using Azure DevOps to improve the reliability and repeatability of platform delivery.

-
Produce and maintain clear technical documentation for platform configuration, Azure DevOps processes, operational procedures, standards and support processes.
-
Collaborate with IT Architecture, Enterprise Security, Cloud Operations teams, software vendors and data delivery teams to ensure coherent platform operations.

Experience implementing or supporting infrastructure as code and automation practices for Azure platform resources, environment configuration, secrets handling and deployment orchestration.
-
Experience automating or improving operational processes around data platform or governance tooling, preferably including Microsoft Purview administration or metadata management processes.
-
Working knowledge of scripting and automation using tools such as PowerShell, Python, ARM, Bicep or Terraform, with the ability to apply these through Azure DevOps or comparable delivery tooling.
-
Strong problem-solving capability with an understanding of dependencies across applications, data platforms and enterprise technology services.
