About the Role
We are seeking a motivated and compassionate Practice Nurse or Physician Associate to join our friendly and patient centered general practice team. This is an excellent opportunity to work in a supportive GP clinic providing high-quality primary care to patients of all ages.
The successful candidate will work collaboratively with GPs, administrative staff, and other healthcare professionals to deliver safe, effective and evidence-based care.
Key Responsibilities
· Perform patient assessments and clinical observations.
· Provide wound care, dressings and suture removals.
· Administer vaccinations and immunizations.
· Preform blood tests, fecal tests and other testing as required.
· Conduct cervical screenings (if trained).
· Deliver health promotions and lifestyle advice.
· Maintain accurate electronic patient records.
· Ensure compliance with infection prevention and control standards.
· Participate in clinical audits and quality improvement initiatives.
· Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation.
· Ad hoc duties.
Essential Requirements
· Registered General Nurse with active registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland (MNBI) or Qualifications as a Physician Associate from a recognized programme and an active registration with the Irish Society of Physician Associates (ISPA).
· Eligibility to practice in Ireland in accordance with current regulatory requirements.
· Previous experience in primary care or general practice is desirable.
· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
· Strong organizational skills, meticulous note keeping and time management.
· Proficiency with electronic medical record systems.
Desirable skills
· Competence in Phelbotomy, immunizations and chronic disease management.
· Experience using GP clinical software such as Socrates, Health One, or similar systems.
· Independent clinical decision-making within professional scope of practice.
· Commitment to continuing professional development.
· Friendly, empathetic, and professional approach to patient care.
