Meet the Team
Within RTÉ Technology, our Cyber Security team plays a critical role in protecting our systems, content, and digital services. As a close-knit team of three, we work collaboratively to lead and support cyber security across the organization — from strengthening defences and managing risk, to enabling innovation in a secure and resilient way.
About the role:
Reporting to the Cyber and Network Security Lead, you will:

Work closely with the wider Technology team to enhance security practices and support ISO 27001 certification involving management and development of Information Security Management System (ISMS).

Design and implement policies, systems, and controls to protect sensitive data and ensure the security of critical broadcast infrastructure.

Assist in ensuring existing installations meet policy requirements

Monitor operation of network security solutions and threats within the environment.

Analyse security requirements and recommend improvements to the configuration of systems.

Collaborate to develop, support, and maintain all required system design and build documents and other system documentation.

Work with Technology administrators and staff to configure and support security tools such as patch management systems, asset management systems, vulnerability management, mobile device management, etc.
- Implement security policies, application security, access control and corporate data safeguards.

Research security threats and continuously evaluate our position against findings
About you:
You will have:
-
A degree in Cybersecurity, Digital Forensics, Computer Engineering or a related field (or equivalent experience)

A minimum of 5 years of experience working in a Cyber Security role with extensive experience in the wider area of Information Technology

Experience in working at a company certifying in ISO 27001 or a similar certification
-
Experience in managing servers and client devices using MDM or similar

Good mentoring, interpersonal, and communication skills
-
Strong analytical, critical thinking and problem-solving skills

A working knowledge of programming and scripting
-
Familiarity with private and public cloud technologies

A general knowledge of law, Irish & EU, in this area, e.g. GDPR, NIS 2

Additional Security certifications are advantageous
This position will be located in our Dublin Office with occasional travel to regional sites and abroad. Hybrid working may be applied for following successful completion of probation.

This appointment will be made at the Senior Broadcast Engineer grade and is being offered on an ongoing full-time contract basis. The salary scale for this grade is from €62,633 to €75,834 gross per annum.
