Bookkeeper / Accounts Administrator

Location: Old Conna Golf Club, Ferndale Road, Bray, Co. Wicklow
Reporting to: General Manager
Employment Type: Full-Time / Part-Time – depending on candidate
Role Overview
Old Conna Golf Club is seeking an experienced and highly organised Bookkeeper / Accounts Administrator to support the day-to-day financial administration of the Club.
The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, processing invoices and payments, assisting with payroll and providing timely financial information to the General Manager.
This is a hands-on role suited to someone who is comfortable managing the everyday bookkeeping requirements of a busy organisation and working closely with management, suppliers and other members of the administration team.
Experience using BrightBooks, Dext and Sage Payroll would be a distinct advantage.
Key Responsibilities Bookkeeping & Accounts
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records.
- Process supplier invoices and ensure they are correctly coded and recorded.
- Manage accounts payable and assist with the scheduling and processing of supplier payments.
- Record and reconcile income received by the Club.
- Complete regular bank and credit card reconciliations.
- Maintain supplier accounts and investigate any discrepancies.
- Assist with debtor and creditor management.
- Maintain appropriate supporting documentation for all financial transactions.
- Assist with month-end bookkeeping and preparation of financial information for management.
- Liaise with the Club's accountants and auditors when required.
Payroll
- Assist with the preparation and processing of staff payroll.
- Maintain accurate payroll records, including hours, holidays and relevant deductions.
- Assist with Revenue-related payroll administration and reporting.
- Ensure payroll information is processed accurately and confidentially.
Financial Administration
- Assist the General Manager with the preparation of monthly management information.
- Support budget monitoring and expenditure reporting.
- Assist with membership-related financial administration where required.
- Maintain organised digital financial records and supporting documentation.
- Support the implementation and improvement of financial procedures and internal controls.
- Provide general accounts and administrative support as required.
Experience & Skills
The ideal candidate will have:
- Previous bookkeeping, accounts administration or similar experience.
- Strong understanding of day-to-day bookkeeping principles.
- Experience with accounts payable, reconciliations and payroll.
- Strong Microsoft Excel and general computer skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Strong organisational and time-management skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage competing deadlines.
- A professional approach to confidential and sensitive financial information.
- Good communication skills and the ability to work as part of a wider team.
Desirable Experience
Experience with the following would be a distinct advantage:
- BrightBooks
- Dext
- Sage Payroll
- Experience working within a golf club, members' club, hospitality business or similar organisation.
- Experience preparing information for monthly management accounts and year-end audit.

Old Conna Golf Club is a busy members' golf club based in Bray, Co. Wicklow. The role provides an opportunity to join the Club's administration team and play an important part in maintaining strong financial controls and supporting the effective day-to-day operation of the Club.
Pay: €18.00-€20.00 per hour
