The Role : Technical Lead – Cloud, DevOps
We are seeking an experienced Technical Lead – Cloud & DevOps to lead cloud infrastructure and DevOps initiatives for a prestigious banking customer. The role involves designing scalable and secure cloud solutions, implementing CI/CD pipelines, automating deployments, and ensuring application reliability and performance.
The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience with AWS/Azure/GCP, Kubernetes, Docker, Terraform, Jenkins/Azure DevOps, and strong scripting skills. The candidate will collaborate with development, security, and operations teams to drive cloud transformation, enforce DevOps best practices, and mentor team members
Your responsibilities:
- Provide L2/L3 Production Support for GPS, VES, and other Shared Payments Services applications.
- Monitor application health, batch processing, system performance, Kafka messaging flows, ECS workloads, and database environments.
- Perform incident troubleshooting and resolution using Unix/Linux, SQL, MongoDB, AutoSys, and cloud-native technologies.
- Lead major incident management activities, service restoration efforts, and operational governance reviews.
- Conduct Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and implement preventive measures to improve platform stability.
- Manage AWS-hosted application environments, cloud infrastructure, and platform availability.
- Support Kubernetes, OpenShift, Docker, and ECS platform operations, deployments, and upgrades.
- Drive automation initiatives to reduce operational effort and improve service reliability.
- Ensure compliance with SLA, audit, regulatory, security, and operational risk requirements.
- Coordinate with business users, payment operations teams, infrastructure teams, and application development teams for issue resolution and service improvements.
- Lead release implementation, environment management, and production readiness activities.
- Provide technical leadership, mentoring, and guidance to support and operations teams.
- Participate in change, problem, risk, and capacity management processes.
- Support continuous service improvement and operational transformation initiatives.
Your Profile - Essential skills/knowledge/experience:
Production Support & Operations

Strong experience leading large-scale Production Support teams for enterprise applications.

Expertise in Incident, Problem, Change, and Release Management processes.

Experience managing critical production environments with stringent SLA requirements.

Strong knowledge of ITIL-based service management practices.

Proven experience conducting RCA and implementing permanent fixes.
Cloud & Platform Engineering

Hands-on experience with AWS Cloud Services including ECS, EC2, S3, CloudWatch, IAM, Lambda, and related services.

Experience managing cloud-native application environments and platform operations.

Knowledge of platform resiliency, scalability, disaster recovery, and business continuity practices.

Experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform and/or CloudFormation).
Containers & Middleware

Strong experience with Kubernetes, OpenShift, Docker, and container orchestration.

Experience supporting Kafka messaging platforms and event-driven architectures.

Experience working with MongoDB Atlas and relational databases.
DevOps & Automation

Experience with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, TeamCity, GitHub Actions, UDeploy, Azure DevOps, or Bitbucket Pipelines.

Experience driving deployment automation and DevOps best practices.

Proficiency in scripting using Shell, Python, or PowerShell.

Knowledge of environment provisioning and release automation processes.
Monitoring & Observability

Experience implementing and supporting monitoring solutions including: CloudWatch, Prometheus, Grafana, ELK Stack and AWS X-Ray

Ability to create operational dashboards, KPI reporting, and service health monitoring frameworks.
Leadership & Stakeholder Management

Experience leading distributed global support teams.

Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.

Ability to manage executive-level communications during critical incidents.

Experience working directly with business stakeholders and payment operations teams.
