Full job description

The Salthill Hotel, one of Galway's leading 4-star hotels overlooking the beautiful Salthill Promenade, is seeking a passionate and enthusiastic Commis Chef to join our dynamic kitchen team.

This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious chef looking to develop their culinary skills while working alongside experienced chefs in a busy, professional hotel environment.

Key Responsibilities

Assist with the preparation and presentation of high-quality dishes.
Ensure all food is prepared in accordance with recipes and hotel standards.
Maintain excellent food hygiene and HACCP standards at all times.
Support senior chefs during busy service periods.
Prepare ingredients, organise mise en place, and assist across different kitchen sections.
Help maintain a clean, safe, and organised kitchen.
Work collaboratively with the kitchen team to deliver an exceptional dining experience.

The Ideal Candidate

Previous experience as a Commis Chef or Kitchen Assistant in a hotel or restaurant is desirable.
A recognised culinary qualification is an advantage.
Good knowledge of food hygiene and HACCP practices.
Passion for fresh, high-quality food.
Positive attitude with a willingness to learn and develop.
Ability to work efficiently under pressure.
Excellent teamwork and communication skills.
Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and public holidays.
