Minimum 2 years’ hands on experience implementing ICON IPF or similar payments framework within banking environment
Lead the design, development, and implementation of microservices-based applications using Java (v17 onwards) , Spring Boot, and related frameworks.
Provide technical leadership to development teams, ensuring best practices in architecture, coding standards, performance, security, and maintainability.
Strong experience working in AWS cloud environments
Solid experience with Apache Kafka and asynchronous messaging
5-10 Years as a Java engineer
Some hands on experience of operating within payment solution within banking environments
Strong understanding of JMS, JSON, XML, Spring JPA, transaction management (JTA) and RESTful APIs.
Proficiency in working with Oracle and MongoDB.
Hands-on experience with Test-Driven Development (TDD) and Behavior-Driven Development (BDD), with the ability to promote quality engineering practices across the development lifecycle.
Familiarity with Bitbucket, Jira, Confluence, Docker, Kubernetes, Observability tools like (Grafana, Dynatrace, Tivoli) and CI/CD pipelines such as Jenkins.
Proven experience working closely with major banking clients
Knowledge of ISO 20022 payments, including payment types and schemes
Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with both technical and non technical stakeholders , work closely with product owners, architects, tech designers, QA, DevOps, and business stakeholders in Agile Scrum teams to deliver high-quality solutions
Mentor junior and mid-level engineers, perform code reviews, and support continuous improvement across the engineering team.
