The Plant Operations Supervisor will oversee the daily technical and operational output of our gas filling facility. This is a strategic leadership role focused on ensuring the seamless integration of our automated filling systems with our maintenance and quality protocols. You will be the driving force behind operational excellence, shifting the facility toward a culture of Lean Manufacturing and data-driven KPI management.
Key Responsibilities
- Establish and monitor metrics for the filling lines, ensuring operational efficiencies and reduction of down time
- Map the current value stream, from bulk liquid delivery to cylinder dispatch, to improve efficiencies in our workflow
- Collaborate with the Accounts and Management teams to forecast growth and justify capital expenditure for plant upgrades.
- Introduce Lean tools for inventory & cylinder management
- Oversee the Preventative Maintenance schedule to ensure the automated filling system, vacuum pumps, and compressors are serviced without disrupting the production plan.
- Work with the Quality Dept to ensure the plant remains compliant with ISO 9001 and relevant medical gas standards (e.g., HPRA requirements for Medical Oxygen).
- Support the Production Supervisor in resource allocation, ensuring the right staff are on the right lines during peak demand periods.
- Coordinate with Truck Drivers and Yard Operators to optimise cylinder turnaround times and minimize cylinder dwell time on-site.
- Act as the technical lead for HAZOP studies or risk assessments related to high-pressure gas handling and cryogenic liquid storage.
- Lead the "Root Cause Analysis" for any plant failures, near-misses, or quality deviations.
- Ensure all operators are up-to-date on Standard Operating Procedures and safety training
- Monitor bulk tank levels to ensure zero stock-outs while optimising delivery windows.
- Track and reduce energy consumption, particularly the electricity usage of the compression and refrigeration systems.
- Act as our training lead for technical training sessions
- Oversee the general upkeep, safety & security of the facility, including the yard and gas storage areas.
What you will bring
- Experience in a technical or plant management role, preferably within high-pressure gas, chemicals, or a similar heavy-industrial environment
- The ability to integrate seamlessly into a senior leadership team, collaborating across departments like Quality, Accounts, and Production.
- A relevant degree or higher-level technical qualification in Engineering, Operations Management, or a related discipline
- The energy and drive to thrive in a rapidly expanding company, helping us scale our operations while maintaining excellence.
What to expect
Join an established, family-rooted company with over 77 years of industry experience. You will work alongside a highly skilled team that balances a heritage of technical excellence with the modern, global support of our joint venture partnership. Our work matters.
Because we operate a specialised Medical Oxygen facility, your role directly impacts the lives of patients across Ireland. You aren't just managing gas; you are ensuring the delivery of life-critical healthcare supplies.
We value your time outside of the plant. Unlike many industrial roles, we offer a stable, predictable schedule from 8:00 am to 4:30 pm, Monday to Friday. We believe that a rested and present team is a safe and efficient team.
You will be part of a collaborative leadership environment that values your technical input. As we expand and shift toward Lean Manufacturing, you will have the autonomy to drive operational excellence while receiving the support needed to succeed in a rapidly growing company.
Expect a workplace where safety isn't a checkbox—it’s the priority. From conducting internal studies to lead "Root Cause Analysis" for near misses, we maintain an environment that protects our people and our community.

Application question(s):
- This role involves oversight of medical grade oxygen under HPRA and ISO 9001 standards. What experience do you have maintaining compliance in a heavily regulated or pharmaceutical/medical manufacturing environment?
- Do you have direct experience working in high-pressure gas, chemical processing, or heavy industrial facilities?
- Have you directly supervised plant operators, maintenance technicians, or line workers in a manufacturing or processing facility?
- This role requires daily, active presence on the plant floor, gas storage yard, and filling lines—not just in an office. Are you comfortable in a hands-on, heavy-industrial environment?
