Financial Accountant - Global Intercompany & Statutory Reporting
Location – London/Leeds/Dublin
Hybrid - 2 days per week (Dublin only)

12 month FTC

Flutter consists of two commercial divisions (FanDuel and International) and our central Flutter Functions; COO, Finance & Legal. Here in Flutter Functions we work with colleagues across all our divisions and regions to deliver something we call the Flutter Edge. It’s our competitive advantage, our ‘secret sauce’ which plays a key part in our ongoing success and powers our brands and divisions, through Product, Tech, Expertise and Scale.

In Flutter Finance we pride ourselves in providing global expertise to ensure Flutter is financially healthy. Utilizing our Flutter Edge to turbo-charge our capabilities. The Financial Accountant will work across critical workstreams within Project Polaris, our strategic initiative to transform Flutter Entertainment's finance function into a best-in-class operation. This role will drive the alignment of accounting systems, and implementation of automation solutions to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and strategic value delivery across the organisation.

What You’ll Do

Work on projects related to finance transformation as required. As part of the ongoing Polaris project, work with the systems teams, Deloitte, and other collaborators to align on design and implementation of new finance systems, such as intercompany workbench and ARCS.
Be a key stakeholder in UAT (User Acceptance Testing), discovery Workshops and implementation of a new finance ERP tool across multiple jurisdictions and currencies.
Work in conjunction with the transfer pricing team and tax teams on the accounting for Intercompany arrangements.
Prepare intercompany and statutory reporting and improve processes around intercompany.
Be involved in the maintenance and improvement of internal controls. Work with internal controls team and the external auditors to ensure compliance with SOX requirements and provide evidence and walkthroughs when needed.
Continuous development of reports to meet senior management requirements.
Prepare and post monthly journal postings in compliance with SOX scoping requirements, including internal and external debt postings, interest, FX, monthly recharges and transfer pricing for certain divisions.
Build and maintain strong relationships with key team members, both those within Intercompany and statutory reporting and those within the Global Finance organisation more broadly such as Treasury and Tax, external auditors, different Flutter brands and divisions and regulators.
Other ad-hoc projects including support on the onboarding and integration of further businesses as the Division pursues inorganic growth opportunities.

How You’ll Do It

Qualified accountant with strong academic credentials (e.g., honors degree) and experience gained in industry or practice, preferably in a plc/multi-national environment, 0-2 years PQE.
Experience in Statutory Reporting preferred
Proficiency in US GAAP and IFRS.
Proven experience in developing/implementing reporting & operational improvements
Strong financial accounting experience with a solid understanding of current/relevant technical accounting issues
Experience in a plc environment and Oracle and Hyperion financial systems is desirable.
A highly motivated, organized, professional standout colleague with strong process, technical, and analytical skills combined with commercial competence and good interpersonal skills.
Strong presentation and communication skills: the ability to accurately and briefly identify key issues and communicate them broadly.
Ability to plan ahead and work independently.
Good working knowledge of Word, Excel, and PowerPoint in a fast-paced environment.
Ability to deliver high-quality work under pressure of tight reporting deadlines.
Excellent time management and communication skills, both written and verbal.
An interest in process improvement and automation.
