The Fitzwilliam are looking for experienced Head Mixologist to the bar team at The Lounge
As a Mixologist, you will play a key role in delivering an exceptional beverage experience by combining creativity, technical expertise, and outstanding guest service. You will be responsible for crafting innovative cocktails, maintaining the highest standards of quality and consistency, and contributing to the overall success of the bar operation.
Key Responsibilities

Cocktail Development & Innovation: Design and create distinctive seasonal and signature cocktails that reflect the venue's identity and brand standards. Stay up to date with industry trends, techniques, and premium products to continuously enhance the beverage offering and drive guest engagement and revenue.

Quality & Consistency: Prepare and present all beverages to the highest standards, ensuring consistency in taste, appearance, and quality. Follow established recipes and specifications while supporting and mentoring colleagues to maintain excellence across the bar team.

Inventory & Cost Control: Manage bar inventory through accurate stock monitoring, ordering, stocktakes, supplier coordination, and wastage control. Support cost management initiatives by maintaining optimal stock levels and promoting efficient use of products to maximise profitability.

Exceptional Guest Experience: Deliver warm, personalised, and professional service by engaging with guests, recommending beverages based on individual preferences, accommodating special requests where possible, and creating memorable experiences that exceed expectations.

Health, Safety & Compliance: Maintain full compliance with food safety, hygiene, licensing, and responsible alcohol service regulations. Ensure all bar equipment and work areas are clean, organised, and maintained to the highest standards, promoting a safe environment for guests and colleagues.

Team Collaboration: Work closely with colleagues across the Food & Beverage department to ensure smooth daily operations, support service delivery during busy periods, and contribute to a positive, collaborative, and high-performing team culture.

Brand Representation: Act as an ambassador for the venue by demonstrating professionalism, passion, and extensive product knowledge, ensuring every interaction reflects the standards and values of a luxury hospitality environment.
About The Role
Requirements

Previous experience as a Mixologist or Bartender, ideally within a luxury hotel, five-star property, or premium cocktail bar, with a strong knowledge of classic and contemporary cocktails.

A thorough understanding of health, safety, hygiene, and responsible alcohol service, recognising the importance of maintaining a safe and compliant hotel environment.

A genuine passion for delivering exceptional guest experiences, supported by outstanding communication and interpersonal skills.

Excellent attention to detail, ensuring the highest standards of beverage preparation, presentation, and customer service are consistently achieved.

The ability to work effectively as part of a team while also demonstrating initiative, ownership, and the confidence to work independently.

A positive, professional, and proactive attitude, with the ability to remain calm and organised in a fast-paced environment.

Must be available to work on a shift basis, including weekdays and weekends, in line with business requirements.
