Role Profile
We have an excellent opportunity for a financial services professional to join our Investment Team as an Investment Operations Associate on a 24 month fixed term basis.
The team are responsible for the day-to-day coordination within the Investment department of ongoing projects as well coordinating the team’s monthly deliverables. We are looking for a driven candidate with experience in asset management or financial services to join an expanding team in a fast-paced environment.
The role will provide the successful candidate with extensive exposure across multiple internal departments, and to the workings and decision making within the Investment team, as well as direct exposure to the world’s leading managers across multiple asset classes.
Duties
Coordinating the onboarding of investment mandates and target funds, ensuring all participants complete tasks by launch date
Drafting of Investment guidelines in conjunction with portfolio managers / external delegate managers.
Preparation for and management of monthly Investment Committee meetings, collation and distribution of documentation, drafting minutes, ensuring actions are addressed.
Processing the Investment team purchase orders, invoice management and control.
Point of contact for a selection of third-party services providers, managing service requests, assisting with commercial negotiations and service provider revenue control.
Managing research providers and assisting in preparation of research budget.
Problem solving/ issue resolution on operational issues requiring engagement with internal teams, delegate managers and service providers.
Project management, liaising with internal departments and externals as needed.
Ad hoc projects for Investments Department.
As required, manage interns and transition year students on work experience.
Additional tasks as required such as delegate and target fund data analysis and optimisation, presentations to external and internal audiences, process and procedure improvements, budget calculations etc.
Skills & Competencies
Project management skills
Ability to perform under pressure and within tight deadlines with accuracy
Numeracy, accuracy and attention to detail essential
Good communication skills, both oral & written
Advanced Microsoft office skills, PowerBI skills an advantage
Good grasp of technology.
Qualifications & Experience
2-3 years experience in financial services.
Bachelor’s honours degree in a relevant discipline.
Good knowledge of mutual fund landscape and insurance industry is advantageous.
