Job Description
The Senior Associate Director, Third Party Management is responsible for leading the oversight and governance of third-party, outsourced and relevant intragroup service arrangements across the Group / applicable legal entities. The role ensures that outsourcing and third-party engagements are identified, risk-assessed, approved, documented, monitored and, where necessary, exited in accordance with internal policy and applicable regulatory expectations in relevant jurisdictions, including Ireland and the Cayman Islands. Supports the Head of Third Party Management and Head of Controls in meeting their responsibilities.
The role also acts as a senior point of coordination across business owners, Legal, Compliance, Risk, Information Security, Operational Resilience / BCM, Data Protection, Procurement, and relevant entity governance fora to ensure that third-party arrangements remain effective, compliant and operationally resilient.
Third-party / outsourcing governance
- Support the implementation and ongoing enhancement of the Group’s third-party management and outsourcing framework, including policies, standards, procedures, governance forums and management information.
- Ensure consistent application of methodologies for determining whether an arrangement constitutes outsourcing / third-party engagement and whether it is critical, important or material.
- Provide senior challenge and decision support to business owners and governance committees on risk acceptance, control requirements and proportionality of oversight.
Lifecycle oversight
- Oversee and / or coordinate risk-based due diligence, onboarding, pre-contract assessment, approval, periodic review, ongoing monitoring, issue remediation, renewal and exit planning for third-party arrangements.
- Drive ongoing performance and control oversight of third parties, including SLA / KPI monitoring, issue escalation, control testing support, review of independent assurance, and challenge of remediation plans.
Registers, documentation and management information
- Own or oversee maintenance of the third-party / outsourcing inventory and related registers, ensuring completeness, data quality, timely updates and readiness for regulatory reporting, internal audit and supervisory review.
- Produce high-quality management information, risk reporting, thematic analysis and committee papers on third-party population, critical services, due diligence status, control gaps, incidents, renewals, concentration exposure and remediation activity.
Monitoring and assurance
- Assist coordination of responses to internal audit, Compliance Monitoring Plan findings, regulatory requests, inspections and thematic reviews relating to outsourcing / third-party risk.
- Support and lead client assurance activities, including the coordination and delivery of third-party management due diligence reviews, responses to client questionnaires, and participation in onsite client meetings and reviews.
People leadership / stakeholder management
- Act as a senior subject matter expert and trusted advisor to business leaders, entity boards / committees and control functions on third-party and outsourcing governance matters.
- Support the design, development, delivery and continuous enhancement of a structured third-party management training and awareness programme across the organisation, ensuring that business owners and relevant stakeholders understand their roles and responsibilities across the full third-party lifecycle.
- Lead, coach and develop junior TPM staff and promote a strong controls culture across the third-party lifecycle.
- Build effective working relationships across jurisdictions and functions to support consistent application of the framework while accommodating local legal and regulatory requirements.
Qualifications
Primary level degree in business, finance, accounting, law, risk or a related discipline.- Professional qualifications in risk, audit, compliance, procurement or outsourcing governance are desirable but not essential.
- At least 6 years’ experience working in the fund administration, financial services or relevant regulated industry.
- Significant experience in third-party management, outsourcing governance, supplier risk, operational risk, vendor management or related control functions within financial services or another highly regulated environment.
- Experience preparing materials for and interacting with senior management, boards, risk committees, Compliance, Internal Audit and regulators / supervisors.
