Communications & Administration Officer
Grade V
Full-Time Permanent Contract
The Communications & Administration Officer (Grade V) will support the Communications Manager in delivering the St. Michael's House Communications Strategy through the development of high-quality communications content, digital communications, organisational campaigns and administrative support.
The postholder will assist in developing engaging communications across internal and external channels, support the promotion of organisational initiatives and recruitment campaigns, maintain brand consistency across communications materials and provide project and administrative support to both the Communications Office and the Access & Integration Directorate.
The role requires excellent communication, organisational and administrative skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities, work collaboratively across departments and contribute to the delivery of high-quality communications that support the strategic objectives of St. Michael's House.
Essential Qualifications:
A relevant degree qualification in:
- Communications
- Digital Media
- Public Relations
- Business Administration
- or another relevant discipline
AND
A minimum of five years' relevant experience in communications, administration or a similar professional role.
Essential Knowledge & Skills
Applicants must demonstrate experience in:
- Developing high-quality written communications.
- Creating content for websites, newsletters, reports and digital communications.
- Developing content for organisational social media channels.
- Copywriting, editing and proofreading.
- Photography, video editing or multimedia content creation.
- Updating website content using Content Management Systems (CMS).
- Search Engine Optimisation (SEO) and digital accessibility principles.
- Canva and/or Adobe Creative Suite.
- Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
- Providing administrative support to senior management or organisational directorates.
- Preparing agendas, minutes, reports and action trackers.
- Coordinating projects and maintaining information systems.
- Analysing information and preparing clear reports and summaries.
- Managing multiple priorities while meeting deadlines.
- Working independently and using initiative.
- Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills.
- Strong organisational skills with a high level of attention to detail.
Desirable Requirements
- Experience working within healthcare, disability, community, voluntary or public sector organisations.
- Knowledge of disability services and person-centred approaches.
- Experience supporting recruitment campaigns and employer branding initiatives.
- Experience creating promotional campaigns and organisational publications.
- Experience managing databases, reporting tools or information systems.
- Knowledge of GDPR and accessibility standards.
- Full clean driving licence.

SALARY SCALE: Successful candidates will be in line with June 26’ HSE revised consolidated Clerical Officer Grade V; point 1; € 52,758– point 7; €63,110 LSIs per annum based on working a 35-hour week.
New appointees to any grade start at the minimum point of the scale. Incremental credit will be applied for recognised relevant service in Ireland and abroad (Department of Health Circular 2/2011). Incremental credit is normally granted on appointment, in respect of previous experience in the Civil Service, Local Authorities, Health Service and other Public Service Bodies and Statutory Agencies.
HOLIDAYS: 30 days per annum pro rota based on hours worked.
