Are you a senior Digital Graphic Artist with extensive experience delivering planning visualisations and photomontages? Do you enjoy taking ownership of complex visualisation projects? Are you ready to provide technical leadership while helping shape the future of a specialist Graphics team?
Macro Works, part of the APEM Group, is looking for a Principal Digital Graphic Artist to act as a technical authority across our planning visualisation services You’ll take the lead on major and complex visualisation projects across Ireland and the UK, providing technical direction from methodology and project planning through to final review and sign-off.
This is a broad role combining technical authority with commercial and operational responsibility. You’ll manage multidisciplinary inputs, client relationships, project programmes and resources, while coaching the Graphics team and helping to shape standards, workflows and training. You’ll also have a role in identifying new technologies and developing innovative approaches to visualisation.
To be successful in this role, you’ll bring:
- Degree qualification in Graphic Design, Digital Media, Visualisation, Illustration, 3D Modelling, Architecture, Landscape Architecture, Environmental Design or a related discipline.
- Extensive experience leading the delivery of planning visualisations, verified views and photomontages for complex infrastructure and development projects.
- Expert knowledge of visualisation methodologies, industry guidance and technical quality assurance requirements.
- Advanced proficiency in Adobe Creative Cloud software, particularly Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign.
- Strong understanding of GIS, CAD and 3D modelling workflows and their integration into visualisation production
- Proven experience providing technical leadership, governance and final review of visualisation outputs.
- Excellent understanding of photography, panorama creation, image processing and advanced photomontage techniques.
- Ability to interpret and challenge complex drawings, plans, models and design information.
- Strong leadership and people management experience, including coaching and developing teams.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with experience leading client interactions and managing stakeholder relationships.
Desirable:
- Experience acting as technical lead on strategic infrastructure, renewable energy, transport or nationally significant planning projects.
- Experience supporting appeal-stage work, oral hearings and major consultation processes.
- Experience implementing AI, automation or innovative visualisation technologies within a controlled quality framework.
- Chartered status or membership of a relevant professional body.
