The role is predominantly office based, with attendance at customer sites during surveys, deployment, testing, commissioning, migration and support activities. It covers SCADA platforms, particularly Ignition and ICONICS, together with the integration of PLCs, RTUs, telemetry outstations, historians, databases, networks and client systems.
The successful candidate will work directly with customers throughout the project lifecycle, from requirements capture and presales through implementation and handover, and will provide technical escalation when significant operational issues arise. Occasional out-of-hours work may be required for planned cutovers or priority incidents and will be managed in accordance with EMR arrangements.
The Candidate:

Furthermore, the successful candidate should be an innovative thinker, keen to challenge the status quo and current ways of working.
The role is predominantly office based, with some requirement to attend site during deployment, commissioning and support phases. A major part of this role includes working with SCADA platforms, with particular focus on Ignition and ICONICS, as well as supporting the integration of SCADA systems with PLCs, RTUs, telemetry outstations and client systems.
The role involves regular communication with clients during implementation and after deployment, including supporting queries, troubleshooting issues and helping ensure reliable operation of the delivered SCADA solution.
Responsibilities:
-
Take technical ownership of assigned SCADA projects from requirements and presales through design, implementation, FAT, SAT, commissioning, handover and support.
-
Develop and review SCADA architectures, specifications, interface definitions, engineering estimates, delivery plans and technical risk assessments.
-
Configure, develop and review SCADA/HMI applications, particularly using Ignition and ICONICS, including graphics, tags, alarms, trends, reports, scripts and user access.
-
Lead integration with PLCs, RTUs, telemetry outstations, historians, databases, networks, cloud or enterprise interfaces and other client systems.
-
Lead technical design reviews, guide and mentor other engineers, and ensure outputs are consistent, maintainable and compliant with customer and EMR standards.
