Linux/embedded firmware Engineer
The other guys will tell you that they are making the world a better place. At ResourceKraft we are actually doing it!
ResourceKraft and its boutique development division Full Stack Energy, collaborate with businesses and organisations to assist them create sophisticated technology solutions that will enable them to fulfil their commitments to sustainability and decarbonisation, while concurrently improving our client’s competitive advantage. Every day, our software and hardware solutions are controlling and monitoring electrical loads (like Electric Vehicle chargers), energy storage systems (like grid-scale batteries) and renewable energy systems (like solar and wind).
ResourceKraft is recruiting a passionate embedded firmware and systems engineer. This is a practical engineering role combining firmware development, electronics integration, system commissioning and field deployments. Successful candidates should be comfortable moving between software development, laboratory testing and outdoor installation environments.
What you will do:
Develop, integrate and test embedded software that will run on ResourceKraft’s embedded hardware platforms
Work with a range of stakeholders to ensure that the correct software features are developed and that the correct hardware decisions are made
Develop, integrate, test and maintain embedded software for ResourceKraft's hardware platforms, with a strong focus on microcontroller-based systems including PIC24, STM32 and other embedded architectures.
Design, debug and commission embedded systems incorporating communications interfaces such as RS485, Modbus, CAN, Ethernet, cellular and wireless technologies.
Perform hands-on hardware bring-up, board-level debugging, firmware validation, fault-finding and performance optimisation using appropriate test and diagnostic equipment.
Participate in all phases of the product development lifecycle, from requirements capture and system design through implementation, testing, deployment and ongoing support.
Lead or assist with the integration and commissioning of embedded systems at customer sites, ensuring reliable operation in real-world environments.
Undertake site surveys, commissioning activities and troubleshooting in industrial and infrastructure environments, including roadside installations, motorways, utility infrastructure and other outdoor locations.
Be prepared for regular travel within Ireland to support on- site deployments, commissioning activities and customer engagement.
