Arcadis is seeking a Maintenance Engineer / Utilities Engineer to support manufacturing operations for pharmaceutical client in Ringaskiddy. This position will focus on the reliability, compliance and performance of critical utility systems supporting GMP manufacturing operations.
The successful candidate will work closely with manufacturing, engineering, maintenance and quality teams to ensure critical utility systems are maintained in a compliant state whilst supporting operational excellence and manufacturing continuity.
This is a site-based role requiring strong technical knowledge of utility systems, GMP environments and quality-driven record management practices.
Responsibilities
- Provide engineering support for critical utility systems supporting manufacturing operations.
- Support the maintenance, troubleshooting and continuous improvement of utility equipment and associated infrastructure.
- Ensure maintenance activities are completed in accordance with GMP requirements and site procedures.
- Maintain accurate engineering and maintenance records in line with quality and compliance requirements.
- Support investigations, deviations, CAPAs and change controls associated with utility systems.
- Collaborate with Production, Maintenance, Engineering and Quality teams to ensure utility systems remain compliant and available.
- Review engineering documentation, maintenance records and technical reports to support inspections and audits.
- Assist with planned and preventative maintenance activities for utility equipment.
- Support utility system reliability initiatives and continuous improvement projects.
- Ensure all activities are performed in accordance with site safety procedures and regulatory requirements.
Utility Systems Exposure
Candidates should ideally have experience supporting one or more of the following:
- Water for Injection (WFI) systems
- Purified Water (PW) systems
- Clean Utilities
- Process Water Systems
- Clean Steam Systems
- Compressed Air Systems
- HVAC Systems
- Plant Utilities
- Utility Distribution Systems
Requirements
- Degree qualification in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Chemical Engineering or a related Engineering discipline.
- Minimum 3 years' experience in a pharmaceutical, biotechnology, medical device or highly regulated manufacturing environment.
- Experience supporting critical utility systems within a GMP environment.
- Strong understanding of maintenance practices and equipment reliability.
- Experience working with quality documentation and record management systems.
- Familiarity with GMP requirements and regulated manufacturing environments.
- Strong technical problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
Desirable Requirements
- Direct experience supporting Water for Injection (WFI) systems.
- Experience working within pharmaceutical manufacturing operations.
- Knowledge of deviation management, CAPA and change control processes.
- Exposure to asset management or CMMS systems.
- Experience supporting audits and regulatory inspections.
- Understanding of reliability engineering principles and preventative maintenance programmes.
