The Opportunity
Allianz plc in Ireland are building an ambitious digitisation and transformation strategy; leveraging our brand and expertise to deliver truly customer-centric service through our Product Management function. As we continue to evolve this capability we now have an opportunity for a Junior Product Manager to join our expanding team.
This is an ideal role for someone who already knows Allianz from the inside — whether from an operations, underwriting, claims, or business analyst background — and who is ready to take the next step into a formal Product Management career. Your deep understanding of how Allianz works, combined with a passion for improving customer and colleague experiences, will be your greatest asset.
Reporting to the Product Manager and Principal Product Manager, the Junior Product Manager will support the delivery of the Allianz product roadmap, contribute to backlog management, and work closely with agile development teams and business stakeholders to shape and ship meaningful product improvements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the Product Manager and Principal Product Manager to refine the feature roadmap and product backlog
- Assist in delivering on the product roadmap from conception through to requirements gathering and onto development and post launch with a view to drive continuous improvement
- Contribute as a Product Owner in agile ceremonies — including sprint planning, backlog refinement, and retrospectives — helping to shape user stories and acceptance criteria
- Embed customer and market insights into the product development process at all stages, drawing on first-hand knowledge of internal Allianz processes and pain points
- Collaborate with business stakeholders across functions (operations, underwriting, claims, IT, and compliance) to translate business needs into clear product requirements
- Support tracking to monitor feature delivery progress and feature value (post-delivery)
- Leverage and use appropriate expertise and tools to improve the efficiency of the delivery process
- Contribute to the active development of the Product Management function through the adoption of agile best practices and new approaches to product backlog management and delivery
- Candidate should above all want to improve the experience of all of our customers (including partners and internal stakeholders), our internal processes and efficiencies
Key Requirements / Skills Experience
Essential:
- A minimum of 2–3 years' experience working within Allianz or a comparable insurance / financial services organisation, with strong working knowledge of internal business processes, systems, and the stakeholder landscape
- A genuine interest in transitioning into or developing within a Product Management career, with some prior exposure to product ownership, business analysis, or project delivery
- Demonstrated ability to translate business problems and customer needs into clear, actionable requirements
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with the confidence to work across multiple business functions
- Ability to manage competing priorities and work effectively in a fast-paced, iterative delivery environment
Desirable:
- Prior experience in a business analyst, operations, underwriting, claims, or IT role within Allianz or a similar regulated insurer
- Strong understanding of Allianz Ireland's operational environment — including familiarity with core systems, internal workflows, and cross-functional dependencies
- Exposure to agile delivery methodologies (Scrum, Kanban) — formal certification is a bonus but not required
- Familiarity with product management or project tracking tools (e.g. Jira, Confluence, Azure DevOps)
- Knowledge of Data Analytics / AI technologies, principles, and their practical use
- Experience in Insurance / Financial services or other regulated environments
- Prior experience as a business analyst, software developer or similar roles in eCommerce
