This is a full-time permanent role for 39 hours per week at a salary of €36635 per annum (€18.06per hour). Salary may be higher depending on experience and will increase proportionately where additional hours are required.

Job Description
We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Data Analyst (Purchasing) to support our Purchasing and Supply Chain operations. The successful candidate will analyse purchasing, sales, inventory and supplier data to provide actionable insights that improve procurement planning, stock management, supplier performance and commercial profitability. The role requires strong analytical skills, experience working with large datasets, and the ability to develop reports and dashboards that support strategic business decisions. The successful candidate will work closely with the Purchasing, Finance, Sales and Warehouse teams to enhance operational efficiency through data-driven decision making.
Responsibilities
- Analyse purchasing, sales and inventory data to identify trends, demand patterns and opportunities to improve purchasing performance.
- Develop, maintain and automate management reports, dashboards and key performance indicators using Excel, ERP systems and business intelligence tools.
- Monitor supplier performance by analysing lead times, pricing trends, purchase accuracy and delivery performance to support procurement decisions.
- Perform inventory analysis including stock turnover, replenishment planning, ageing stock and demand forecasting to optimise stock levels.
- Conduct gross margin, landed cost and pricing analysis across products, suppliers and product categories, identifying commercial risks and improvement opportunities.
- Extract, validate and reconcile data from ERP and business systems, ensuring the accuracy and integrity of purchasing and inventory information.
- Produce forecasting models and analytical reports to support purchasing strategies, inventory planning and business growth initiatives.
- Collaborate with Purchasing, Finance, Sales and Warehouse teams by providing data-driven insights and recommendations to improve operational performance.
- Identify opportunities to automate reporting processes and improve data quality through the effective use of analytical tools and technologies.
- Ensure compliance with company data governance procedures while maintaining accurate purchasing and commercial reporting records.
Key Requirements
- Minimum of 2 years' experience in data analysis, business analytics, purchasing analytics or a similar analytical role.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including Pivot Tables, Power Query, XLOOKUP and advanced analytical functions.
- Experience using ERP or inventory management systems for data extraction, reporting and analysis.
- Experience with Power BI, Tableau or similar business intelligence and data visualisation software would be an advantage.
- Knowledge of SQL, Python or other data analysis tools would be desirable.
- Strong analytical, numerical and problem-solving skills with excellent attention to detail.
- Professional working level of English required.
- Ability to communicate analytical findings clearly and work collaboratively with cross-functional business teams.

Minimum Qualification: Degree or equivalent qualification in Data Analytics, Business Analytics, Business Information Systems, Supply Chain Management, Statistics, Computer Science or a related discipline preferred. Equivalent relevant industry experience will also be considered.
