About the Role
We are currently seeking an experienced and motivated Diesel Mechanic to join our growing team. Working on our fleet of buses, you will play a vital role in ensuring our vehicles are maintained to the highest safety and reliability standards.

Key Responsibilities
- Carry out routine servicing, maintenance, and repairs on our fleet of buses.
- Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic faults using appropriate diagnostic equipment.
- Perform preventative maintenance inspections and complete scheduled servicing.
- Carry out safety inspections and ensure all work complies with company and legal standards.
- Prepare vehicles for CVRT inspections and carry out any necessary repairs.
- Respond to vehicle breakdowns and complete roadside repairs where required.
- Complete maintenance records and job documentation accurately.
- Work closely with the Maintenance Manager to prioritise repairs and minimise vehicle downtime.
- Ensure the workshop is kept clean, organised, and compliant with health and safety requirements.
- Assist in maintaining parts and tool inventories where required.
Essential Requirements
- Qualified Diesel/Bus Mechanic or equivalent recognised mechanical qualification.
- Experience working on commercial vehicles, buses, coaches, or HGVs.
- Strong diagnostic and fault-finding skills.
- Good understanding of diesel engines, braking systems, suspension, steering, and electrical systems.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety.
- Full clean driving licence.
Desirable
- Experience working on PSV or coach fleets.
- Category D (Bus) or Category C (Truck) driving licence.
- Experience with diagnostic software and electronic vehicle systems.
- Welding or fabrication experience would be an advantage, but not essential.
