Role Description The Deli Cook is a full-time, on-site role based at Deansrath Deli in Clondalkin. This role involves preparing hot and cold deli items, including sandwiches, salads, and cooked foods according to established recipes and portion standards. The Deli Cook is responsible for setting up and restocking the deli counter, maintaining clean and organized workstations, and following all food safety and hygiene procedures. Day-to-day tasks include receiving and preparing ingredients, operating kitchen equipment safely, labeling and storing food correctly, and minimizing waste. The Deli Cook also supports customer service by presenting food attractively, responding to specific preparation requests, and coordinating with colleagues to ensure timely, accurate orders.
Qualifications
Experience in food preparation or cooking in a deli, café, or similar food service environment.
Knowledge of basic food safety, hygiene practices, and safe operation of kitchen equipment.
Ability to work in a fast-paced setting, manage multiple orders, and maintain attention to detail.
Strong teamwork, communication skills, and a professional, customer-focused attitude.
Reliability in attendance, punctuality, and following standard operating procedures.
Willingness to learn house recipes and preparation methods; flexibility to work varied shifts, including weekends.
Physical ability to stand for extended periods, lift and carry supplies, and perform repetitive tasks safely.
Prior experience in a deli or supermarket counter is an advantage but not required; training will be provided.
Pay: From €15.50 per hour
