What you’ll be doing...
Verizon is in the process of modernising our core networks to enable new, ground-breaking products and technologies. We are looking for a Project Manager to help us lead the charge. In this position, you will be responsible for Project Management for various ULH build initiatives. You will manage multiple simultaneous projects. The position requires involvement throughout the life cycle of a build, in particular to resolve technical issues as they present themselves.
Coordinating and scheduling resources across multiple organisations to align project requirements with business goals and objectives.
Identifying, monitoring, reporting, and escalating project-related issues to achieve timely resolution.
Developing and implementing corrective action plans to mitigate impact on project schedules and overall business objectives.
Utilising project tracking tools and systems to accurately document project milestone completions, project issues, corrective action plans, project jeopardies, and overall project completions.
Maintaining excellent communication with Functional Team Members and Direct Management to ensure early identification of issues and timely reporting of status.
What we’re looking for...
You are self-driven with experience in the design and implementation of complex and distributed systems. You have a passion for seeking engineering excellence and adopting new technologies. You are not afraid to drive for success by working with multi-functional teams.
You’ll need to have:
A bachelor’s degree or Project Management experience.
Experience in making independent decisions based on policies, practices, and project requirements.
Even better if you have one or more of the following:
Experience in managing telecoms infrastructure projects.
Strong technical and project management knowledge.
Excellent verbal and written skills for inter-organisational communications to both internal and external partners.
Strong organisational skills and a demonstrated ability to manage multiple, often conflicting priorities to successful completion.
Engineering, Planning, and/or Operations knowledge, especially with Long-Haul Telecommunications networks.
Experience with fibre splicing, fibre remediation, and characterisation.
PMP certification.
Proficiency in utilising AI tools to streamline technical research, documentation, and problem-solving.
