Overview
We are looking for an experienced Press and Public Affairs Manager to shape how the Port is understood by media, political, industry and wider stakeholders.
In this role, you will lead corporate communications and press office activity. You will identify and craft compelling stories from across the Port and lead communications that strengthen our reputation as a cornerstone of Irish competitiveness. You will build trusted relationships with media and stakeholders, working across our key themes of trade, environment, community, heritage and culture.
As part of our multi-award-winning External Affairs team, you be joining Dublin Port at a pivotal time as we deliver our Masterplan 2040, implement our ESG strategy and strengthen our position as leaders in community engagement and port-city integration. Reporting to the Head of External Affairs, you will work closely with the Chief Executive, senior leadership team and colleagues across the organisation to help protect and enhance the Port's reputation.

Key Responsibilities
Media relations and communications
Shape and deliver Dublin Port's communications programme, working closely with colleagues across the organisation.

Lead Dublin Port's press office, managing our external communications agency to deliver proactive and responsive media engagement.

Act as a trusted adviser to senior leadership on media, reputation and stakeholder matters, helping shape how Dublin Port is understood by key audiences.

Develop and draft clear, compelling content across Port activities, including stories, press releases, statements, speeches, briefings and other communications materials.

Manage the Port's earned media and advocacy objectives by monitoring and acting on coverage insights, reputational issues and opportunities.

Project manage the Dublin Port Yearbook, the new trade statistics platform, and contribute to other publications.

Collaborate closely with marketing, community and other colleagues and agencies to deliver coherent omnichannel campaigns that maximise the reach of Port messaging.

Deliver the external communications programme supporting the Port's Masterplan2040, including project milestone announcements, stakeholder engagement activity, and communications that support the funding and investment case for Dublin Port.
Incident management

Play a leading role in Dublin Port's crisis and incident response arrangements, providing calm and clear communications advice under pressure.

Lead communications on operational, environmental and reputational issues.
Public affairs and stakeholder engagement
Structure and deliver Dublin Port's public affairs programme, strengthening understanding of the port and supporting the delivery of the Port's strategic objectives.

Bring structure and direction to the Port's public affairs programme through stakeholder mapping, briefings and engagement planning, building on existing strong relationships.
- Build further constructive relationships with elected representatives, government officials, industry bodies and other stakeholders.

Develop high-impact position papers, messaging and other content on policy matters, positioning Dublin Port as a thought leader on relevant issues.

Monitor policy developments relevant to Dublin Port and the wider maritime sector.
Qualifications and Experience

Minimum 8 years experience in media relations, corporate communications, journalism, public affairs, agency or a related field.

Experience inhouse or agency in infrastructure, transport, logistics, utilities, construction, venues or another operationally complex environment, is highly desirable.

Excellent writing, numeracy and storytelling skills, with the appetite to work across a wide range of topics with a high degree of accuracy.

Demonstrable evidence of ability to deal with a wide range of situations - from proactive public communications campaigns to crisis management.

Experience engaging with political, industry, government and other stakeholders.
