Role Purpose
The Senior Solar Technical Lead will be the company's most senior technical authority for solar PV systems. Responsible for technical delivery, quality assurance, safety standards, installation processes and continuous improvement of the Solar by Global division.
This role combines engineering expertise, leadership, quality assurance, customer engagement, and continuous improvement. The successful candidate will mentor technical staff, develop installation standards, troubleshoot complex technical issues, and help shape the future growth of Solar by Global.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as the technical lead for all residential and commercial solar PV installations.
- Provide technical oversight during project planning.
- Ensure all installations meet:
- Safe Electric requirements
- National Wiring Rules (ET101)
- Building Regulations
- SEAI grant requirements
- ESB Networks requirements
- Work with suppliers on technical product evaluations.
- Attend complex customer meetings where technical expertise is required.
- Improve installation efficiency.
- Develop technical documentation.
- Standardise engineering processes.
- Analyse installation performance data.
- Identify opportunities to reduce costs while maintaining quality.
- Support resolution of escalated technical issues.
- Provide technical explanations to homeowners and commercial customers.
- Build trust through expert advice.
- Recommend improvements to product offerings.
- Conduct site surveys where required.
- Identify engineering risks before installation.
- Support commissioning and system handover.
- Assist with grid connection requirements where applicable.
- Resolve technical issues during project delivery.
- Review and approve PV system designs.
- Ensure compliance with Irish electrical regulations, SEAI standards and industry best practice.
- Develop engineering standards and installation procedures.
- Lead technical decision making for complex installations.
- Provide technical support to sales, design and installation teams
Candidate Profile
The ideal candidate will be an experienced renewable energy professional with significant hands-on experience delivering solar PV projects in Ireland
Essential Experience
- Minimum 7–10 years' experience within the solar PV industry ( please confirm years of experience?
- Strong experience in roofing and general construction
- Strong technical knowledge of residential and commercial PV systems.
- Experience leading technical teams.
- Experience reviewing and approving PV designs.
- Strong knowledge of Irish electrical regulations.
- Experience with battery storage systems.
- Experience commissioning solar installations.
- Experience working with installers and electricians.
- Full clean Irish driving licence.

Dublin (Glasnevin) with hybrid flexibility and nationwide / Leinster travel for site visits.
Reporting To
Head of Operations/Managing Director
Pay: €70,000.00-€90,000.00 per year
