About the Role
Verdé is seeking a highly organised and commercially aware Retrofit Programme Manager to provide programme-level coordination, visibility and control across our retrofit project portfolio.
This is an overarching programme management role. Individual Project Managers and Project Coordinators will remain responsible for the day-to-day delivery of their assigned projects, while the Retrofit Programme Manager will ensure that the overall retrofit programme is properly planned, resourced, scheduled, monitored and reported.
The successful candidate will play a key role in improving delivery discipline, identifying risks and resource gaps early, supporting billing readiness, and ensuring that all retrofit projects remain visible, controlled and aligned with agreed plans.
Key Responsibilities
The Retrofit Programme Manager will:
- Maintain an up-to-date master programme for all active and upcoming retrofit projects.
- Track project progress against agreed plans, milestones, target dates and delivery requirements.
- Monitor planned versus actual progress across the retrofit programme.
- Ensure project schedules are complete, realistic and regularly updated.
- Identify scheduling clashes, resource gaps, under-utilisation, delays and project risks.
- Work closely with Project Managers, Project Coordinators, Field Managers, Supervisors, subcontractors and support teams.
- Ensure project updates, trackers, reports and risk logs are accurate and current.
- Escalate risks, delays, poor project updates, missing documentation and billing risks.
- Maintain visibility of labour, subcontractor, technical, survey and specialist trade requirements.
- Track billing milestones, invoicing readiness, documentation gaps and close-out status.
- Support management with clear programme reporting and practical recommendations.
Skills and Experience Required
The ideal candidate will have:
- Experience in programme coordination, project coordination, construction coordination, operations coordination, scheduling or a similar role.
- Experience working across multiple concurrent projects.
- Strong planning, scheduling and reporting skills.
- Excellent organisational ability and attention to detail.
- Strong communication and follow-up skills.
- Confidence in constructively challenging incomplete updates, delays or poor project information.
- Commercial awareness, particularly around programme delays, billing milestones and cash flow.
- Good IT skills, including Excel, Outlook, Word and project management or CRM systems.
- Ability to work effectively with office-based teams, site-based teams, subcontractors, suppliers and management.
Desirable Experience
Experience in any of the following would be an advantage:
- Retrofit, construction, building services, insulation, renewables or residential construction.
- SEAI grant processes, BER assessments or retrofit compliance documentation.
- Retrofit measures such as attic insulation, cavity wall insulation, external wall insulation, internal wall insulation, airtightness, ventilation, heating upgrades, heat pumps, solar PV, windows and doors.
- Odoo or similar ERP/project management software.
- Safe Pass or similar construction-related certification.
Personal Attributes
We are looking for someone who is:
- Highly organised and proactive.
- Forward-looking and solutions-focused.
- Comfortable working across multiple projects.
- Confident following up with colleagues and managers.
- Able to maintain a broad programme view while still focusing on detail.
- Commercially aware and accountable for maintaining programme discipline.
- Calm, professional and structured under pressure.
