The Vehicle Logistics Department at Volkswagen Group Ireland plays a vital role in delivering vehicles from our global production network to customers across Ireland. Supporting some of the world's most iconic automotive brands - Volkswagen Passenger Cars, Audi, Škoda, CUPRA, SEAT and Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles - the team manages the end-to-end vehicle supply chain, working closely with Volkswagen Group Logistics, shipping partners, ports and storage providers. Our focus is on ensuring vehicles are delivered efficiently, cost-effectively and on time, while continuously driving innovation, resilience and customer satisfaction. This role offers the opportunity to work in a fast-paced, international environment at the heart of one of Ireland's leading automotive distributors.
Reporting to the Vehicle Logistics Manager, this role is responsible for ensuring the efficient operation of vehicle logistics, registration, taxation, and dealer support activities while acting as a key liaison for internal and external stakeholders. The position also leads special projects, manages third-party logistics performance and compliance processes, and drives continuous improvement initiatives. This is an exciting opportunity to play a central role in delivering operational excellence across the vehicle supply chain while contributing to strategic projects and business improvements.
Key figure for logistics related projects.
Liaison between external logistic providers, ports and stevedores for Volkswagen Group Ireland.
Processing of all new vehicles in stock with regard to control, delivery and vehicle care requirements.
Co-ordination of vehicle dispatch and invoicing of vehicles to Dealers/RAC/Fleet/Staff.
Providing support regarding dealer credit availability, raising credit notes and refunds as necessary.
Supporting end of day / end of month processes.
Assisting Brands with coordination of vehicles movements for new model launches and/or promotions
Providing support in relation to the Registration of vehicles and payment of VRT. Monitoring available funds. Top up of VRT bond.
Deal with queries regarding vehicle registrations / availability of ECOC documents birth certs etc. Amendment of Birth Cert and upload of 'completed' ECOCs. Printing and dispatching COC documents for dealer network
Monitoring Logistic Performance of Service Provider (KPI Reporting)
Processing PO's for the provision of logistic services and approving invoices.
Present KPI pack to brands on monthly basis
Support in the registration of ECO, COC, Staff Purchase vehicles, RAC vehicles
Process payments of Road Tax for VGIE Business vehicles
Relevant degree or professional qualification (e.g. Logistics, Business, Finance)
Minimum 3 years' experience in a similar or related role
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work on their own initiative and collaboratively in a team environment
Strong organisational skills with attention to detail
Proficiency in Microsoft 365 tools (e.g. Excel, Outlook, Teams)
Experience in the automotive, mobility, or related sector
Knowledge of logistics/costing systems
Training on the use of the AS400
Brand or dealer network experience is desirable
