We are currently recruiting an Actuary for our Claims Analytics Team.
Reporting to the Claims Analytics Lead, your role will be to support the actuarial and claim function within AXA Ireland. You will deliver insights and advanced data analysis across all class of business. Joining a team of data scientists, data engineers and actuaries, you will contribute to the delivery of transformative data and AI/ML solutions.
The ideal candidate will have a strong blend of technical, business acumen and communication skills, with the ability to work closely with stakeholders across the business to achieve AXA’s ambition.

You'll work majority of your week away from home. Away from home means either attendance at one of our head office locations, visiting clients or attending industry events.
Responsibilities:

Contribute to the delivery and continuous improvement of actuarial reports and ad hoc analysis, providing claims insights across products and processes.

Undertake focused deep-dive analysis on claims trends and processes to identify performance drivers and support actionable recommendations.

Present trends, analysis, and recommendations to a range of stakeholders to support data-driven decision-making.

Develop and refine statistical models, including both actuarial and machine learning models, to enhance understanding of claim performance and drive process efficiencies. Regularly maintain, recalibrate, and enhance existing models to ensure their effectiveness.

Support the development and enhancement of data assets that enable advanced analytics and AI/ML initiatives.

Provide support to actuarial trainees and analysts where appropriate, including sharing technical knowledge and peer reviewing work to help maintain high-quality analytical outputs.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Claims, Technology, Risk, and Pricing, to align priorities and support delivery of business objectives.

Demonstrate flexibility by undertaking additional responsibilities as assigned by the line manager from time to time.
Qualifications
- Will have a minimum of 3 years’ experience in actuarial / pricing / data science related work.

Nearly/Newly qualified Actuary with the Institute of Actuaries (or equivalent) or else display the skills required which may be obtained through other studies such as statistics, mathematics, or data science. Proven experience using SQL, R or Python, and Machine Learning required.

Proficient in using code or analytical tools for modelling, visualisation, data manipulation and processing.

Able to apply analytical problem solving, make recommendations, and implement improvements continuously in a dynamic environment.

Good understanding of GLMs, machine learning models and data science process (feature engineering, modelling etc.) required.
