Role
The role is an individual contributor role that sits within the Irish Fund Accounting New Business team reporting to the Operational Divisional Manager for New Business. The role is primarily responsible for the completion of client onboarding ensuring operational readiness for funds across Luxembourg Fund Accounting. It provides an opportunity to play a key role in shaping the strategic direction of Northern Trust’s valuation services by leading the onboarding of new business for both new and existing clients, while identifying opportunities for, and contributing to, the development of system enhancements and procedures.
Principal Responsibilities

Lead onboarding of new clients and fund launches, ensuring operational readiness across Fund Accounting

To be the technical and subject matter expert of various fund activity and specifically around the requirements of what is required to set up a fund, e.g. transitions/fund launches/in-specie transfers etc

Develop and maintain an understanding of the industry and NT, in particular NT’s system capabilities, infrastructure and process data flows

Act as a trusted advisor to clients, solving onboarding challenges and co‑creating operating models that support their strategic and operational requirements

Minimise errors in all deliverables at all stages

Attend regulars meetings with the relevant Divisional Managers, Section Managers and Team Leaders and the Bangalore team

Focus on the resolution of complex transitions, where expertise is required to interpret policies, guidelines and/or processes

Identify and respond to operational risk throughout the business unit
Skills / Experience
Experience
-
Current knowledge and experience of Fund Accounting with a strong focus on Luxembourg specific requirements and CSSF regulations
-
Maintain an understanding of the industry and NT, in particular NT’s systems, infrastructure and process/data flows
-
Strong experience in the alternative and semi liquid hybrid Luxembourg fund structures
-
Strong communication, negotiation, first class presentation and internal and external client-servicing skills

Excellent Project Management skills
Systems
-
Detailed Knowledge of Enterprise and related Fund Accounting Applications

Experience with vendors preferred (Bloomberg, Reuters etc)

Understanding of how Fund Accounting systems link and interface to other systems and an appreciation of how to implement such interfaces

Analytically and procedurally competent to represent the team on cross-function process or project deliverables

Responsible for the rollout of new procedures within the team in consultation with BPA/Team leaders/NAV Managers

Ensure accuracy and timings are consistently achieved within the team and when not achieved actively pursue a solution. Proactive in maintaining Service Level Agreements and recognise when the SLA needs to be amended. Ensure the team adheres to SLA and fund prospectus

Collaborate and consult with project/assignment stakeholders with ease. Prepare and recommend solutions to project/assignment issues and risk factors. Provide regular updates to the stakeholders on project status
