Commodity Manager / Strategic Sourcing Manager
We are seeking a Commodity Manager to join our global procurement team in Swords, Ireland, supporting the development and manufacture of world-class laboratory diagnostic instruments used by healthcare providers around the globe.
In this highly visible role, you will take ownership of selected strategic commodities and supplier relationships that are critical to manufacturing operations in Ireland & UK. Working across Procurement, Engineering, Quality and Manufacturing Operations, you will develop sourcing strategies, drive supplier performance, support new product introductions, and ensure a resilient, competitive and sustainable supply chain.

Your tasks and responsibilities:

Develop and execute sourcing strategies for strategic commodities supporting our diagnostics manufacturing operations.

Manage supplier relationships across quality, delivery, capacity, sustainability and cost competitiveness.

Lead commercial negotiations and productivity initiatives to support business objectives.

Partner with Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality and Supply Chain teams to ensure continuity of supply and support new product introductions.

Identify and mitigate supply chain risks and implement supplier development plans where required.

Drive supplier capability, capacity and performance improvements through structured engagement.

Support global commodity initiatives including demand pooling, supplier consolidation, market intelligence and strategic sourcing activities.

Act as the key commercial interface between suppliers and cross-functional stakeholders.

Contribute to sustainability, resilience and risk-management objectives across the supplier base.

Your qualifications and experience:
Essential
-
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, Supply Chain, Procurement or related discipline.

Experience in strategic sourcing, commodity management, category management or procurement within a manufacturing environment.

Demonstrated success in supplier negotiations and supplier relationship management.
-
Experience working with cross-functional teams including Engineering, Manufacturing and Quality.

Strong commercial acumen with analytical and strategic problem-solving capability.

Comfortable in using analytical applications and artificial intelligence tools
Preferred
-
Experience in electro-mechanical, electronics, industrial, medical device, semiconductor, aerospace or advanced manufacturing industries.

Knowledge of supply market analysis, supplier development and risk management.
Travel
- Willingness to travel internationally up to 20%.
