Position Summary:
This is an exciting time to join the Medica Ireland Diagnostic team alongside a team of highly skilled Radiographers in our Cork Urgent Care X-ray Facility.
As a Part Time Radiographer at Medica you will be joining an experienced team of both permanent and locum radiographers responsible for delivering top-quality radiology services.

Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the day-to-day operation and co-ordination of the Cork Urgent Care X-ray service.
- Act as the site Radiographer and primary point of contact for the service.
- Participate in daily/weekly multi-disciplinary clinical team huddles
- Attends quarterly Radiography team meetings
- Optimise patient pathways and workflows to ensure a high-quality patient experience.
- Adhere to departmental policies, procedures and standard operating protocols.
- Ensure compliance with HIQA, EPA, radiation protection and organisational requirements.
- Maintain quality assurance, quality control and equipment maintenance programmes.
- Assist the Regional Clinical Lead Radiographer with quality control (QC) checks of equipment
- Support accreditation activities, audits, inspections and regulatory site visits.
- Participate in clinical audit, incident reporting, risk assessments and quality improvement initiatives.
- Support the induction, supervision, training and ongoing development of radiography staff.
- Support student clinical placements and foster partnerships with Higher Education Institutions (HEIs).
- Participate in radiation safety activities and support staff education in radiation protection.
- Escalate equipment faults, service issues, operational risks and quality concerns to the Regional Clinical Lead Radiographer and relevant stakeholders.
- Undertake administrative duties required for the effective operation of the service.
- Undertake any other duties reasonably assigned by management in line with service requirements.
Essential Criteria:
- CORU Registered Radiographer
- BSc (Hons) Diagnostic Radiography or equivalent recognised qualification.
- Comfortable and confident with lone working
- Minimum 2 years post-registration radiography experience.
- Experience working in a busy diagnostic imaging environment.
- Knowledge of HIQA, EPA and radiation protection requirements.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise workload effectively.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
